Not sure why I miss read the title but I thought this was tomorrow. I'll try and make it to Parsley Hay later on but may be hampered by having to look after Bob.

Have fun at Curborough.

Luke.

I opened my eyes at 6.45 am and opened the curtains at 6.46 am, No Rain! so off we went. As we came off the motorway the sun came out....and that was it, we got fine drizzle and heavy cloud thereafter.

At Curborough we met Trevor, Martyn and Sue, Paul VX220, Gareth and Fraser, Alan and his son and Stuart, an impressive turn out for a bit of a rainy day, at least it was warm. The MEV owners club were having a track day so there were lots of nice machines to see, and seemingly lots of very harsh braking, perhaps if anyone has ever driven one they could explain the reason for that?? Our resident photographer, Gareth, will hopefully soon be along with some nice pictures of them.

In the meantime, this was some of us at Curborough

I was pleased with this photo because the best car in the club was parked next to me. We set off in the direction of the Peak District, at this point it had been dry for a good while, by the time we got to the petrol station in Ashbourne the drizzle had returned, Stuart and Gareth headed off from here.

Parked up in the petrol station, see it is next to me again, good eh. Stuart was behind me for the part of this journey and it is brill to watch it in my mirror when we come out of the 30 mph zone, it goes like a rocket, delightful.

We decided to go to the Bentley Brooke Inn for lunch and wait to see if the rain would clear.

Hats on.

Russ soon joined us

The conversation soon turned to the Blyton event last week, which was deemed a great success, especially the tuition from AdamR. The excitement is now building for Silverstone, what a great club we have here. Before Silverstone don't forget we are squeezing in the Ashover Car Show next Sunday.

We came out of the Bentley Brooke and it was just about dry so we decided to continue with the original plan and go for some fun. Oops, as we headed deeper into the Peak District the roads got wetter, the one's that were open that is. We diverted through our favourite little tunnel due to a closed road, shame that  :p , and finished at Parsley Hay, where we sheltered under the canopy for a quick coffee before heading home. I announced I was going home topless because I thought it would be dry once we come out of the Peak District, OK so I was wrong, but at least it was warm rain that didn't really wet you, not like last week. Hopefully Martyn has some footage of the tunnel and of Crowdecote (the very twisty bit) trouble is with the mist it will not show the view very well and we were going a bit slower than I would have liked, except for Russ that is!

So we have a excuse to go back and try this route again, minus the tunnel, with the road open and not in the rain.

Hope to see some of you next Sunday, that's Sunday Luke :p , if not see you at Silverstone, don't forget to bring your MOT certificate for my Battle of the Odo's competition.
