1959grantura Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Have had a gander through the search and can't find anything recent so thought I would ask here , I run with an aero screen but hate the isolated feeling of having a passenger without being able to communicate with them apart from traffic lights (can have it advantages of course ;0) ) Can anyone recommend a cheap basic intercom that works good enough for journeys on the road and for trackday use ...not fussed about not hearing over 70ish etc as I wouldn't really want to. Unsure if I want a proper wired into car and lead to connect to helmet or wireless stuck to side of helmet ... Guess for ease the latter? Any happy buyers of intercoms out there? Many thanks Dave Quote

Castlecroft Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 We use two bike helmet Bluetooth intercom headsets, they work really well up to 70ish, then engine and wind noise take over (we have a bike engined westie plus aero screen). Have a look at https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Motorbike-Motorcycle-intercom-interphone/dp/B00M1MMFNA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466268274&sr=8-1&keywords=BT+interphone+Bluetooth+Motorbike+Motorcycle+helmet+intercom+Headset+800M+rider+to+pillion Quote

W Shep Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Autocom get my vote. Used them for 8 years in aeroscreened car with helmets on. Also used them to talk to others who were using walkie talkies on one of our european tours Quote
Murraymint Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Have a look at these…. http://www.starcom1.com/kitcar-handsfree-systems.html Quote
Castlecroft Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I looked at the Autocom units before i got the system i have... the autocom system may be better but the price put me off.. £250+ was just not in my budget range.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autocom-L-2-Passenger-Motorbike-Intercom/dp/B009GG1ZBM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1466278502&sr=8-5&keywords=Autocom In the end I based my decision on time to be used against cost... Hence the £65 units won, and I have not been disappointed. You pay your money and take your choice.... Quote
1959grantura Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Same train of thought graham just seen some older autocom sets on eBay for similar money even less , not that bothered about them being wireless if there are better options for quality, spares etc . Just interested really in what other people use Quote
B.RAD Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 May I refer the right honourable gentleman to the below... http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/110407-intercoms/?fromsearch=1 The link I refer to should still work, if not, it's a Bluetooth intercom system for about £60 and works flippin' brilliantly! Luapno Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Another vote for Autocom. I use the logic system with Bluetooth for phone and with Kenwood Walkie Talkies for talking to others on route. I have a set of in-ear headphones which I can connect to the headset lead. Sound quality is excellent at all speeds There are a few bargains that come up on eBay if you keep an eye out Quote
Paul Ash Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I use Scala rider "teamset Pro" + bought a couple of peltor std ear defenders £20 each & mounted the units onto those to make cheap practice headsets. I then have bought a couple of spare mounts/ fitting kits for crash helmets, so now have an interchangeable system, you just unclick the module & swap it over as required. Does Sat nav & phone + has a jack lead for the ipod. Quote

Vouch for these, AdamR bought some for track tuition after using Barny's Quote
