John Dolan - Wirral & North Wales AO
My 53rd car is a Focus ST3, love it. My first car was a Ford Pop E93A, 1955, bought it for £25. Side valve 1172cc, 3 speed box, vacuum wipers, which meant you couldn't accelerate and see at the same time in the rain. Regrets, too many, but these stand out. Escort RS Turbo, Sapphire Cosworth, BMW 645, RS2000, lots of Minis. Bikes as well, first was a BSA C12. The Westie is 16 now, won't be selling her, longest I've ever owned a car. dave1888
3 I wish I still owned only because of the enjoyment they gave me. Mini pick up, Bond bug and Bedford CF van, happy memories.
DamperMan
The first car...Mini 1000 1980 in pageant Blue. Cooper stripes on the bonnet and black leatherette seats... isn't it funny how our memories gloss over the details.... At the time I thought it was a fantastic.. Until I sold it and realized the truth that other cars of the time where so much better even 1.6d cavalier estates! The mini , I'd rolled it, I smacked the sump into a curb and moved the subframe bending the floor. I fitted put a triumph dash in it using 1000's of scotch locks, bodyfilled over holes. The engine was made of 2 resulting in no timing marks... I just kept bodging it and tinkering... And every weekend adjusting up the drum brakes. It was a fantastic aventure and I loved every minute I'd love to drive it again and remember the fun it was.... and how slow it was! £350 it was sold for .. Formy
I regret selling my E46 330ci, but maybe thats because the P38 Range Rover that replaced it was problem after problem. Lewis, I second that.....I had a Black M-Sport which I only sold because of the consumption. Porsche Boxster when the first child arrived. Apparently the Westy and a Boxster isn't family friendly
