Matt Seabrook
Just a point on heat and fuel. It is a bad idea to have a heat source close to the fuel being used as when fuel is heated it expands. This may see simple but your engine will work on a correctly metered fuel supply (i.e. for maximum power about 13:1 air fuel by mass). If you heat the fuel up you increase its volume and decreases its mass. Unless like some modern cars you have a fuel temp sensor fitted you will decrease power. This is not enough to cause the engine harm but hot starts could be a bit of a problem, as the engine will be running a bit leaner. It is more of a problem to newer cars as the engines already run very lean for better fuel consumption. So if you have to run the exhaust under the fuel tank fit a heat shield between the tank and exhaust and some thermo blanket on the tank would also be good.
