6 point harness

chris sideways

Recommended Posts

I will be fitting a 6 point harness in to  my car soon I was wondering where the best place is to fix the leg straps,is it coming straight up from under the hole in the seat which will mean welding in some sort of fixing or could I fix it to the beam which takes the seat cradle but this would mean having the straps coming under the seat then up though the hole would that still work or would the angle of the straps be all wrong????

Thanks.

Chris.

Fit the straps to the lower rear harness mounts (ie where the lap belts are fixed to) and run them up through a hole in the seat. Don't forget to use longer bolts and appropriate spacers.......

6 point harnesses, this sounds serious ;) Still up for the SEMSEC stuff then?

Where does one cut the hole to run the harness through? COuld you just run them back through the side holes?

In the Westfield race seat, I've seen holes *just* cut into the seat in the "right" spot for the driver, and finished off with the same oblong plastic harness hole thingys that the 4 points go through. I haven't done it myself, but it's a mod I'm considering when I have some more time.

Perhaps the factory or Plays-Kool could help.........
