I'm a big lad just need to ensure I fit - 17 stone of Scottish lad haha, he said the seat is about 14" wide and Im about that so job should be a good one. I like a snug fit and if all else fails I'll change the seats. Edited March 9, 2016 by TheHighlander123 Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm so excited lol I feel like a kid again, although the thought of turning 30 on Monday is a scary prospect. Compared to some of us on here being only 30 is still a kid. Oh and welcome, you've got the best roads in the UK on your doorstep, and a great team in Clan Mc Westy up there, so enjoy yourself 2 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 And.compared to some of us, you're as thin as a racing snake! 1 Quote
TheHighlander123 Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 That was my only worry fitting in it haha. I play rugby so I'm a big lad haha. Either way it's coming home with me. Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Take a tub of butter with you to grease the seats. Quote

David-hrv Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Looking forward to seeing another Westie around Inverness. Have a safe drive there and back and Many Happy Returns for Monday! I celebrated the 30th anniversary of my 30th birthday last November, but Westfields make you feel young! Cheers, David Quote
Mighty Mart Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yeah, as the others have said mate, have a safe trip and hope all goes well. Don't reckon you're get too much sleep tonight mate...you'll be too excited lol... I still get like that the night before I'm going out on a blat..... Get up early the next day, move the cars off the drive and push her out of the garage and down the drive into the road, before starting her up, and nursing her to the end of the road, balancing keeping the engine from dyeing against waking up all the pensioners in our road lol.... Sounds like you've had some nice cars mate, but a westie is a whole new level IMHO... It's the whole package that draws you in rather than raw power mate....hope you find it the same. Mart. Quote
TheHighlander123 Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 WHAT A DAY Left Inverness at 3:45am, arrived at the lads at 10:15. The second I spotted the car on the drive I feel in love with it. The bit I was worrying about was sitting in it, jamp in and even have a wee bit of room to play with, VERY comfy so was delighted. He took me a run in it and it has made me realise I have wasted so much money messing about with cars when I should of had one of these. The smell, handling, noise is immense. The induction sound off the carbs is mad. Car has EVERY receipt from when it was built, including the build manuals, photos of it just finished ect ect. So I bought it, loaded it up and made for home along with 4 13" wheels with NEW tyres, 4 13" tarmac tyres for trackdays and a massive box of spares, (brakes, pads, starter, alternator, bushes, wet weather cover ect ect Car doesn't idle well and also has a wee flat spot at 2500-2600 like a splutter, needs set up (we have a specialist quite local who I will get to set this up) Got back to Inverness at 5:45 tonight, unloaded it, insured it, taxed it then got the wife in it and went a wee 10minute run, then me and my mate went a run. What a bl**** buzz. Words cant describe how much fun it is. Well I need to go to bed now as off to Edinburgh for the Scotland game tomorrow then Aberdeen to fly to New York for my birthday. I'm "buzzing" hahaha like a big kid. LOVE IT 3 Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 How fantastic. Thanks for telling us and have a great birthday. 1 Quote
TheHighlander123 Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 Thanks buddy. Didn't want to put it in my garage...............Can't get over the snort off it and how well it handles, has 4 new Toyo R888s on it. Quote
David-hrv Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Congratulations, and welcome to the fold! So glad you're pleased with it. Can't wait to see it. The induction noise of carbs is brilliant isn't it? Replaced the camshaft and followers in mine today to see if it would cure a persistent tapping noise, but it didn't. Such is the fun of Westie ownership! I'll be able to come out to play after April 1st when it comes off SORN. Have a great birthday. David Quote
