Shaggydoo Posted January 10, 2016 Share Posted January 10, 2016 Bad news Chris, they have the nerve for anything these days because theres no serious deterrent or consequence to their actions if they get caught, thieving scumbags.Whilst doing my jury service before xmas we had a rather large group of pikeys try to spring their pikey brother out of the dock infront of everyone! Smashed place to bits and caused hell, i was sat there on my own thinking what the devil! Fact is they will do anything and sod anybody in their way, you had a lucky escape. Those who steal it is our fault, we flaunt our wealth and they have been dealt such a poor hand in life we should just move on. Just joking, but it is how I felt when the girl who was involved in burgling me in 2014 was caught. They stole some watches, which they them pawned and I found on ebay. Anyway she was caught and after several months they had enough evidence to charge her with handling stolen property. First offence community service and a £150 fine. Her brief made her out to be a victim more than us. She repaid this by coming out of the court and then was caught an hour later for being part of a gang shoplifting in Primark (classy I know). Had my version of punishment happened she would have been breaking rocks and therefore unable to do more. She will continue as the punishments are now seen as easy. When lags can get phones and do what they want inside is there any wonder. A video on Youtube shows a gang of men extorting money from a broken down truck driver. He calls for help and lots of truckers turn up and beat the **** out of them turn their car over and wreck it. You just know the drivers in the UK would be the ones in the dock and the bandits let off. Remember when people are selling stuff cheap many times it has been nicked. Not holding out much hope - the officer who came over to get the spare key said it could be a write off and bits were held on with gaffer tape! Apparently that was good for fingerprints though... Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted January 12, 2016 Share Posted January 12, 2016 I remember years ago, my brother in law had a year old mk1 Fiesta XR2 stollen off the drive; it went some time between 1 and 2 am, the police found it mid morning the day after - not one single XR2 specific part was left, from the engine and gearbox, down to the instruments with the red trim, it had to be craned away as it was just a shell with a few bits hanging off it. Anyway Chris, pleased it's been found, what are the insurers being like ? they can be a real pain sometimes and great others. It's nearly new - not Junk! Well, it actually might be junk now the toerags have played with it Insurance Co have actually been very good - so far - but I'm not going to be happy until it's all sorted and I'm not too much out of pocket. Only problem I have so far is that the car ins only covers personal items up to £100 - so looked to house insurance and I would be covered but only if it was "forced and violent" entry to the house. So hoping my prescription driving glasses are there - not expecting the Oakleys or the Makita drill to be left behind though. Not sure if I mentioned it, but we did come across four of the coats (minus the Berghaus one) discarded nearby - so the losses aren't total - small mercies I guess...
