When we looked around we ended up in the 3,500kg bracket if we wanted two big horses (e.g. Sec Ds / Irish Cobs) on board and a good size trailer (and there aren't many that pull that these days). Wife bought Touareg (which was great as both tow car and daily). Low 30s mpg meant that, with the mileage she does, there was a case for her getting a more normal estate car and me a Defender. Quote
