Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Does anyone want to join Rickyboy100 and me for a run to the east coast after Christmas. I'm thinking of either Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, 28th, 29th or 30th of December, weather depending. Starting from the Fox and Grapes at 10:30 to 11:00 along the A64 towards Stamford Bridge, up Garrowby Hill and finishing at Filey Brigg and hopefully fish and chips somewhere. Then home before it gets too dark. Sound like a good idea? Quote
Rory's Dad Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Sounds like a great idea (subject to family committments/alternator/battery/weather ) Quote
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Sounds good Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Count us in Quote
tuonokid58 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Could we meet you fox and grapes guys at Seaways? Barry Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Hello All. I may be able to come and say hello as I only live a couple of minutes from Filey Brigg. Quote
Rory's Dad Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Could we meet you fox and grapes guys at Seaways? Barry Of course you could... (but where and what is Seaways??) Quote
tuonokid58 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Hi Martin It's the café which is just a bit further on than Garrowby Hill, I'm surprised you don't know the place. Barry Quote
Rory's Dad Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Thanks Barry - you'd not be surprised by how much I don't know Quote
tuonokid58 Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 There's also a little café about 2 miles away at Finbar but I suppose I know that with my association with bikes and love of lardy produce Barry Quote
Rory's Dad Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I've flagged up this event in my email to local members so hoping there will be a great turnout Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Morning all. You may struggle for fish and chips at Filey over Christmas. you may be better heading for Oasis Café that is straight on Scarborough sea front. parking right outside and if the weather is bad there is an eating area upstairs. if the weather turns a bit bad there is an underground carpark about 5 minutes away to shelter in. Quote
bioman Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 This sounds just the job to get me out of the chair and blow the cobwebs away after Christmas. It'll be nice to get some low cal' Fish & Chips after all the Christmas fayre. So it's + 2 Richard Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 So it looks like we're going to the seaside. Shall we aim for the Sunday? and if the weather's bad, Monday. Buttercup, could you try to find out if there are any cafes open in Filey, I know it closes in October and doesn't open again until April, but somewhere must stay open. And it's ok Martin, I know where the Seaways Cafe is. Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Hello Red Spider. I will do my best but I am away at work and not back home till Christmas Eve night. Quote
