Quinten
I've been Googling until blue in the face, but I just can't find the ones I am looking for, so I'm hoping someone else has spotted these... I was driving home one day a couple of weeks ago and ended up behind a private ambulance. It wasn't until he turned off (and indicated to do so) that I noticed the additional indicators on his roof (i.e. external units). They were combined stop/tail/indicator units and they looked like I thought they looked brilliant and would really suit the back of a Westie, but I can't find them anywhere online
TableLeg
Maybe like these http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/grommet-mount-led-compact-rectangular-stoptailindicator http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/slimline-rectangular-led-stoptailindicator
Quinten
No, those are not what I am after. The ones I saw have the indicator around the stop/tail light. You can find them in a round shape but not in a rectangle...
TableLeg
Not these then either I guess..... http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/led-rectangular-rear-light-stoptailindicatorrear-fogreverse-pair
TableLeg
What kind of 'Private' ambulance was it? If you can give some more details or if not try a search to find a vehicle of the same type we might be able to narrow it down. I have an Ambulance station not too many miles from where I live so if we can get more specific info I might be able to call in and ask for some details the next time I'm passing by. Quinten
It was the type of vehicle as seen on the right but that's as far as I can identify it. Don't know what organisation other than that I was following it on the road from Aylesbury to Buckingham and that it turned off in Winslow (all Bucks). Quinten
No idea what make/model it was. The units were stuck on top of the roof to provide additional visibility, and at first I thought they may have been some strobing units, but having been through some sites which sell those kind of things, a combined stop/tail/indicator unit is not one of them... TableLeg
Well perhaps we have at least narrowed it down.

Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
The one thing I'd add, is to make sure you see the combined type lamp that you're considering working, and ideally under bright light, if not day light. i was originally going to use a three way type LED lamp myself, but after seeing the two types Id looked at in action, it was amazing how poorly the indicator showed up if you the brake lights were on at the same time. In the end, I went for just indicators with separate stop/tale lamps because of this.

In the end, I went for just indicators with separate stop/tale lamps because of this. I find this when following some production cars where the indicators are integrated with, or very close to the brake lights. The indicators are very hard to see flashing when the car is braking. The brake light swamps the light from the indicator. Seems to happen with both bulb and LED fitted cars. When I replaced the trailer lights on my Westfield I used separate indicators from the stop/tail lights for this reason. Jen
