CraigHew Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Having been a member for only 24 hours, I'm still new to having a "boot" the size of my back pocket. However, I have invested in one of these for the "boot" There's also a video of it in action on Youtube (excuse the 2 cheesy guys)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAox9Yl9a4Y Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 I should have had a clutch cable with me on Monday, spent an hour at the side of the road waiting for the AA. Quote
Stu Faulkner Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I had my last Wessie for thirteen years and there was only one thing in my boot. Fresh air, Maybe I was lucky or the fact that i tinkered a lot but it always came home in the same condition as it left the house. Quote
John K Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 We all seem to have missed wet weather gear and a jumper, especially now we are heading to Autumn. Although I'm not sure what sort of wet weather gear short of a spacesuit can prevent a Westie generated 60mph shower from soaking you to your underpants... Quote
Meakin Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Hence I carry towels ;-) I have waterproof over trousers and a cagool doesn't work but at least you like you are deliberately driving with the roof down Quote

Meakin Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Lol yes but with these kind of cars they can guess that. The looks you get are great from laughing and thumbs up to disgust like your something on the bottom of their shoe. Either way it's only water although I do need some kind of goggles for rain as it comes off the top if the windscreen straight into my eyes. I thinking of getting some safety glasses from b&q they do some that look like glasses rather than the ones I use for working on the car. I would look like I'm snorkeling with them on. He he ;-) Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 If we're widening it from general tool kit/spares, then i normally carry my old golf water proofs, a small towel, sun cream, wet wipes to get the said sun cream off my hands before touching the suede wheel! Motor bike combination lock/chain, full hood. Roof supports for half hood. Then strapped on to the roll bar my half hood itself. Quote

Rab (bombero) Reid Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Whats the motorbike lock / chain for? When parked up (mostly overnighters), you pass the chain through a spoke of your alloys and through the 'gap' in your lower wishbone - stops scumbags letting off the handbrake and nicking your car .. or even just pushing it off somewhere for a laugh! Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Yep, I'll loop it through the spokes of an alloy, through the RAC bar, through the visor of my helmet, in the aeroscreen days, and I'll also loop it through the spokes of my detachable steering wheel so I can leave it in the boot box without anyone running off with it!
