Asterix Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Just to let admin know, that when the email membership renewal arrives, if you click on the renewal link provided and you are not logged in to the forums, then you get a non-descript error (i.e. it appears that the renewal link resolves to an error - without explaining why the error may have occurred. Not a problem for me, just thought you'd like to know. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Thanks for this and you're right, you must be logged in. I'll delve backstage tomorrow and make the wording on the invoice email more clear. I'd do it tonight, but it's late and it's dark and scary in there. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 OK, just for the record, although I thought it was fairly clear before, this is the revised contents of the email that goes out to a member when a renewal invoice is generated 30 days before their membership expires: "<#CUSTOMER_NAME#>,An invoice from the WSCC has been generated for you. Please note that you must be signed in on the WSCC Forum at http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/ in order to submit payment for this invoice.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Invoice Title......: <#TITLE#>Invoice Total......: <#TOTAL#>Invoice ID#........: <#ID#>- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Click here to pay the invoice: <#LINK#>If this invoice pertains to membership renewal, you have 30 days from the date of this invoice to complete payment before your WSCC membership package expires. I hope that will cover almost every eventuality - but of course, that will depend on (mainly) men following instructions! Quote
Asterix Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 Errr, that's not the email I got.I got... "Peter Cox,An invoice has been generated for you. Please log in to submit payment for this invoice. If payment has not been submitted before your purchases' expiry date the purchase(s) will expire.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Invoice Title......: Renewal: Individual WSCC MembershipInvoice Total......: 27.50Invoice ID#........: 7276- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Click here to pay the invoice: http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php?app=nexus&module=payments§ion=pay&id=7276" ...which does admittedly say "Please log in" but then later on provides a directly clickable link with the instruction "Click here to pay the invoice" I don't care whether this is deemed defect or user error, but if it gets in the way of our much loved club getting revenue, then...
