Keith Scarfe
Hello. Don't know if any one will remember, but this time last year a group of us Westfield drivers entered a team into the Birkett 6 hour relay. This is a team endurance race which takes place at Silverstone every year. Last year we made the event a sponsored race for charity. The charity we chose was MacMillan cancer relief and we raised over a thousand pounds for their worthy charity. This year we are doing the same, but have chosen a different charity. This time it is for 'St Ann's Hospice', a charity set up by the late wife, Lisa, of Quentin Laithwaite, one of the competitors in the team. As well as the Birkett, the Westfield competitors are planning on raising lots of money for this charity throughout the remainder of this year. The main event being a raffle of a complete Westfield race kit car. More details of this later.... Our team this year will be: Keith Scarfe, Jon Morton, Nick Flowers, Quentin Laithwaite. Team number: 21 Garage:7A There is also a second team entered consisting of: Ian Trevor, Stuart Linn, Jonathan Hawkins, Alexander Wilkinson Team number: 35 Garage:11C Here is a brief newspaper cutting from last year. If anyone would like any further information or would like to contribute to the charity or even just come along to watch at Silverstone on Saturday please dont hesitate to contact me. keith@scarferacing.co.uk
