CAR NOW SOLD

I have owned this car for the last 2 years and in this time, it has served me as both a road going Westfield and also a competitive sprint car.

Possibly one of the best Westfields out there for use on the road and also as an entry point into track days, sprints and hill climbs. Over the last two years it has carried me to numerous class wins, fastest novice at the WSCC Blyton Park Sprint and WSCC overall novice champion.

The car is a 1989 Westfield SE, brief history below:
In 2005 the car was fully rebuilt from the ground up by a previous owner. During this rebuild, a Phase 3, 1.6 Toyota 4age (late model with larger big end bearing journals) was fitted along with a tech-craft exhaust system.
The engine, exhaust and ignition system (Omex100) was supplied by RAW Motorsport.

When I purchased the car, there was a slight crunching into 5th gear. To be safe we decided to take the gearbox out and repair with a new 5th gear syncro and hub. While the gearbox was out, we stripped the engine bay and re-painted the front half of the chassis using Por 15 chassis paint and replaced the aluminium foot well panels.
The engine bay wiring and plumbing was also tidied to enhance looks and reliability.
I replace the front wishbones as one was bent and the others no longer fitted in with the shiny new chassis!

The interior was also spruced up with:
> New dash
> New centre
> Gear stick extension
> New steering wheel
> Quick release steering wheel boss

This year further upgrades were made. These included:
> New front brake discs (drilled, grooved & vented)
> Refurbished rear brakes
> Carbon fibre boot cover
> Nylon engine / gearbox mounts installed
> Interior carpets removed and replacement of aluminium panels
> ITG air filter
.> New "Missab" carb mounting kit
> Raw Motorsport shallow, winged and baffled sump
> Aero screen Lightweight
> Polo rad with new cooling fan
> New HT leads

At the start of the year (2 weeks before the first sprint, d'oh!) the engine spun big end bearing. So, the engine was stripped and rebuilt with no expense spared.
The work included:
> Cylinders honed,
> Block Skimmed
> New Piston Rings
> Crank ground
> New main bearing
> New big end bearings
> ARP big end bolts
> Cyl head skimmed
> Valves re ground
> Cyl head lightly ported
> Complete gasket and seal kit

The approach taken was "well its in bits so lets do everything to ensure reliability and provide a solid base for future upgrades"!!
Throughout this year (10 events and road miles) the engine hasn't had a hiccup or used any of the lovely Millers motorsport oil it now runs,,,

So, the car spec for sale today is as follows:
Engine:
> Raw engineering freshly rebuilt 1.6 Phase 3, Toyota 4 AGE engine.
> Raw engineering shallow sump
> Poly mounted engine and gearbox.
> ITG Megaflow air filter
> Twin 40 DCOE Webber carbs
> Omex 100 3D ignition system
> Omex shift light
> Polo Rad

Drive train:
> Ford Type 9 gearbox
,> Recent overhaul and replacement of 5th gear hub and syncro Remote gear leaver to achieve correct gear leaver position
> 5 link live axle

Brakes:
> Willwood 4pot front brakes (vented / grooved / cross drilled disks)
> Floor mounted peddle box with twin brake master cylinders to enable adjustable brake bias

Interior:
> Quick release steering wheel
> Carbon effect dashboard
> Carbon effect tunnel top
> Luke 4 point harnesses
> Thatcham Immobiliser

Exterior:
> Carbon fibre front cycle wings
> Carbon fibre boot box cover
> Carbon effect rear arch covers
> Aero screen
> Revolution 13 X 7" wheels
> Part worn (lots of life) Avon ZZR tyres (A024 sticky compound)
> RAC roll bar
> New Tonnoue cover

I also have available at extra cost:
> Set of genuine Ford RS (not Capri Laser!) 6 X 13 alloy wheels with nearly new (purchased start of this year) Yoko A539 tyres
> Full windscreen / wiper set up
>Doors
> Boot box
> Carpet
> Escort rad and fan assy.
> many other bits and bobs.

> With the car will be supplied a massive folder of history and receipts (I dare not add them up) dating back to 1989 when the kit was first purchased!!

> I'm willing to do some deal with regards to price on all of the above should you wish to move back to a full screen or have a 2nd set of wheels etc.

So, in summary, If your looking for a pristine road car then this probably isn't for you...... However, if you want Westfield that’s good on the road but can also handle track days / completion work (without worrying about damaging the pristine bodywork on a purely road going car!!) then this is it!!Its a great compromise between road and race, is a proven quick car and has been a great first Westfield!

Or by request.

Forgot to add. The car has mot on it until around March (if memory serves - was done at the start of the season)

The car also has Tax (Until around Feb / March time) I'm happy to take the cash value off the car. (probs not much by now I imagine?!?) If needed.

Also forgot to add, the front wishbones were replaced when I first got the car as one was bent and the others looked naff against the shiny painted chassis.

Let me know if you have any questions.

£6,500 Ono.

Cheers,
Chris

Very nice car very well driven all year! I think that's a bargain considering the amount of work it's had done to it in terms of set up and engine work. Great ad too.

Reminds me of...

Old bull and young bull at the top of a hill looking over a heard of heifers (young female cows to the non-agi membership).  The young bull says to the old bull "Let's run down the hill and s**g a heifer".  "No" says the old bull "Let's walk down the hill and s**g ALL the heifers".  :)
