Norman Verona
We have a Ballantines 21 year old Whiskey in a blue ceramic Wade pot and presentation case. Like THIS We've had for a long time, maybe 20 years. I can't remember where we got it but HM thinks we bought it on a boat so it must have been on the annual holiday to Ireland. It seems to good to open and drink so what would you do with it.
greenandmean
Send it to me and I will drink it for you.
Scottish Bloke
Leave it in the bottle, awful stuff!
Norman Verona
Neither seem a good idea If I was in the pub I would drink it with water. But I don't drink much on my own and the bars in France aren't like pubs. I'm toying with the idea of building a bar and resurrecting my hand pumps and brewing some real ale. I may just be tempted to open it then. Only problem I can foresee is all those friends I never knew I had knocking on my door. My kids aren't whiskey drinkers otherwise I'd open it when they were here. Maybe I'll save it for my grandsons 18th birthday, only 11 years to go

Stuart
Few years ago I was given a bottle of Japanese whisky worth £300. I drank it. It was lovely, but it definitely wasn't anywhere near ten times as lovely as a £30 island single malt. Sell it and get yourself a bottle of Talisker, drink it - and treat the memsahib to something with the profit.

Terry Everall
Hate Talisker Isle of Skye's worst product
Norman Verona
Sorry Doug, I couldn't remember which was which and chose the wrong one. I can't agree with you more, Mr Smeg. If I was in the UK I would do as you suggest. However, we have mainly French friends here and the French aren't lovers of good Whisky. Which reminds me, I have a Nuit St George Burgundy, which is reserved for Christmas day. Steve, you'll have to pop over next year and we can enjoy it. Terry, I'm not that much of an expert. As far as I'm concerned any single malt over 15 years with a drop of water is heaven if sipped slowly.
