Catastropic drive shaft failure

Car is home and stripped down.

Looks like the splined end of the driveshaft sheared in a corkcrew type fracture and then the remaining bits did a good job of destroying all those 'other bits' around them.

The remains of the driveshaft even managed to unscrew the crown wheel preloading collar thus allowing the crown wheel to go all loose.

The then loose end of the driveshaft, driven now by the wheel, did a good impersonation of a chain saw and almost sliced through the chassis narrowly missing the fuel pump and filter.

So it all just got horribly messy.

However thanks to the Gary Bunn I have a diff on loan and Steve D is coming around with the body jacks.

Special thanks to all those who offered a double drive - ,Matt, Marshall, Smiffy and the Duck (from whom I took up the offer).
