Snails, frogs legs, potted paste and a french stick for my Sunday lunch :-)

OK chaps. I'm on it now.

Firstly are you planning to be at Tours for lunch on Sunday 22nd?

Secondly, will a medium priced restaurant be OK?

Thirdly, do you mind where we meet as long as it's got parking for 8 cars (6 of you plus 2 of us)?

If you can answer the above we (Jean-Marie and I) can sort something out.

Thanks.

By the way, you'll need PMR's with good volume. We have a pair but I can't hear mine even if I lift off the throttle.

If I can speak for the group Norman, yes we should be able to make Tours and we'll go with your choice of restaurant, thanks.  ;)

Looking forward to meeting up.

OK, I'll get on it now and let you know where. I'll try and find one to the south of Tours so you don't have to go through the town.

Snails are fine. Frogs legs are OK, but taste just like chicken.

I've only had one meal I wouldn't ever have again and that was 30 years ago at Grasse (near Cannes). It was pork belly. It was uncooked and just a slab of fat. I did eat it but wouldn't have it again.

We have a friend who is a scientist in the food industry. He spent a few years running a processing plant in Saumur. He reckoned that France has the finest food in the world, and the worst!

Just an observation but Poitiers to Tours is 65 miles. Don't leave too early and you'll be at the restaurant for lunch. The whole day is only 135 miles, 2 hours by motorway, probably 4 by the N roads.

We had a talk about what time to set of in the morning and it won't be early. Can't see us going the motorway routes but that said can't see us getting drunk either lol.

Terry, if you follow the D910 through Chaterllerault and then carry on towards Tours you will go right past the restaurant I'm hoping we can meet at. I'm still waiting a reply to my email, should get it in a day or so :)

However beware of road numbers in France, they change often. Road signs, apart from the motorways (A roads) are normally the place names the road goes to.

Oh well, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Bonjour,

Désolé nous sommes fermé le dimanche.

Cordialement

Or, in other words, we are closed on Sundays.

The search will continue.
