Seen them in many escorts, I agree a ford is where it should stay. But I'm really into "sleeper's" and think something like a mk1 fiesta. Keep interior traditional to the era with maybe cobra classic bucket seats, matching rear sear trim. Then exterior i would take to SteveD fir a gorgeous re spray... but keep body work as standard as possible. Yes fitting the engine in may be interesting? But a RWD mk1 YB powered fiesta would be amazing.

Or even better put it into an old school transit van!

 

I'd thought of that, as a van's always handy to have around, but sadly there's a "no commercial vehicles" covenant where we live...

Maybe, if you really want to upset folk, put it in Caterham and put a Crossflow badge on the back.
