Norman Verona
I only got out of my car once with the hood up. Wasn't very dignified with head and body first and crawling across the pavement dragging my A*** and legs out behind me. Hood came off (it had stopped raining) and was never put on after that. Northwarks
Great read guys - I'm looking to get the half hood from softbits, they do an 'easy-in' option. I take the point it won't get used very often as I'm not going to take her out in the rain deliberately but I want to take her further .. possibly into Wales/Derbyshire so not easy to nip home if the sky goes dark ! james_swimmer
Apart from the last few weeks I use my hood quite a lot. I really don't understand what the all the fuss is about, ok so it's not as easy to get in and out as a mondeo (or other similarly boring car), but once you're in it'll keep you dry in the summer (bit hot) and warm in winter, and you can still drive the car! I do intend to get a half hood at some point, it gets a bit hot inside if you have rain and warm weather.
Rhett Turner - Black Country AO
Agree with gadgetman the Half Hood is worth having, it can be used in the dry when taking on a long journey, especially one with lots of high speed dual carriageway or Motorway, it changes the comfort level totally. Especially when the trip is not the main part of the event and you just want to get there. I also used my when taking on the 2.5 hour trip to Blyton together with doors. Getting in and out is not too bad, it does help keep you supple though. Another plus with the half hood is that add a little additional security, or at least a feeling of security. With the hood in place it is not quite so easy for some one to poke around in the can, I have used the hood when occasionally used to go to work. Enjoy your new toy.
