Google searches have turned up a few leads to remove it, but all the software ive downloaded scan the PC, find the virus and then require payment remove it.. Any of you PC guru's have any tips... Darrell O'Neill Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Andy, that's my problem, it wont let me do that .. when I click on "uninstall" it just says "setup initialization error" and kicks me back out again.. Quote
peterg Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Do you have CCleaner installed? if so, use it to clear out all the browsing history etc, then use the Registry fixer to sort that out and finally use the Tools section to uninstall any and all unwanted applications listed. If you don't have it, get it, as it's probably the best (free) utility out there Quote
Darrell O'Neill Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Thanks peter, installing now... Quote
tightscot Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 First tip - don't install stuff that you're not 100% sure of its source and integrity - that'll stop it hapening again. But as the stable door is open :-), you'll need to remove it manually (and any other assocoated programs which will just reinstall it when you reboot.) Try this http://fixingcomputervirus.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/simply-remove-yontoopagerage-uninstall.html You'll be editing the windows registry so if you're not completely comfortable with that - get someone to do it for you. I'd offer but you're too far away, sorry. Once you've done all that - run ccleaner, buy and install Kaspersky Internet Suite (best protection around - you'll get it on Ebay and upgrade online to the latest version) and don't install stuff!!
