Jan Coombes
After owning my car for 5 years and it having been off the road for 4 of them, being rebuilt *pah* I am going to come and join you chaps and have ago at this sprinting game. OK I have sent off my stuff to the Wscc along with my cheque. I have just got myself a race suit off ebay, I can use my moped lid. Almost ready to go. I need some help with the Licence. Bit I have downloaded a form for a 2003 Licence, I know I do not need to do a Ards test, but what about a medical? Have I got the right form for a sprint licence. Another thing How do I do about booking the races I want to enter?
Mark Stanton
I can use my moped lid. Don't know - you'll need to check it against the Blue book. Download a beginners guide from the SS2003 link on club homepage but what about a medical? Nope its a self declaration National B non race license about £30 How do I do about booking the races I want to enter? Download a beginners guide from the SS2003 link on club homepage it will also help on this matter. Good Luck
Jan Coombes
Cheers Mark. I have done my MSA form and I have down loaded the SS thing to. The other thing is Rubber I have Carbon body work so this put me up a class. So I can run beter stuff, where can I get a list from? Can I have slicks? What about Avon wets? Blatman
If you run in "road going" trim (taxed, MOT'd and insured, and you'll have to produce them at signing on/scrutineering...), you'll be in the new road modified class. This allows aero screens and 1B tyres. The list of approved tyres is in the Blue Book, which will arrive with your licence. IMO, for this class, the ultimate tyres are A24 compound Avon ACB10's. Non road legal tyres like slicks or race type wets, will put you in the non road going class.
Mark Stanton
Yep in your road-going class you can run list 1B or 1A (your choice) from any of those listed in 1A or 1B of the Blue Book Slicks would put you in non road going class whether taxed or not - so best not to use slicks
