windy
Road kit cars are classified as Category B cars yet there is still no specific technical regulations for this class. Do we still asssume the "Modified Production car - category C" technical regs (section 11) apply instead? Its too confusing for me Windy
Mark Stanton
Give the MSA a call and ask for clarification they do seem a bit non-committal with kit car stuff Who can blame em

Kev Bamber
too confusing for me too, it implies road kit cars don't require windscreens, but we always seem to be required to run with them in classes 2A & 2B.
Mark Stanton
but we always seem to be required to run with them in classes 2A & 2B. Thems are the rules of the WSCC Speed Series - as WSCC members with specific knowledge of Westfields, their silohouette copyright of each model and development history. The MSA Blue Book is a cover all - Remember many other championships, if not all, encompass both production and kit car classes, whereby the numbers entering into a kit car class are far less. And as such a Westfield is seen as a Westfield without any major difference being catered for. In the WSCC Speed Series you have an option whether to compete with or without a windscreen and not feel any obligation to do so because everyone else either does or doesn't. This also allows compliance with many other championships - dependent upon which class each individual chooses to enter. Perhaps it is a little unfair to expect the MSA to give too many clear black and white guidelines when reviewing kit cars - it is a huuuuuuuuge area for them to oversee as many of the cars used are seen as "specials" - it is up to kit car championships themselves to help develop matters
