You have sky steve :o

It does appear that eveyone wants to be a wannabe these days, was very refreshing during the olympics seeing people who were famous for achieving something.

The answer lies in the soil.

Watch BBC only, there are 5 channels and chances are there will be something worth watching on one of them.

I believe Canada passed a law some time ago limiting the amount of American rubbish the CBC could braodcast. IF I remember correctly it was something like 7%

We should do the same here.

Just cancel Sky Steve , job sorted :d

Don't have it myself , only thing that would tempt me is F1 ,but just can't be that bothered.

I cancelled sky and now only partake in the Steve D show on here ;)  :)  :d

I've seen the advert and similarly thought 'what the devil?!'. However I don't think US TV is the problem. Half the country are glued to EE and Corrie, both of which are brain rotting ****e of the highest (well ok 2nd highest!) order.

Not so much the 'shallow end' of the gene pool, more like still flapping around in the footbath.

I was in hospital yeaturday and the people sat round waiting! Yes many patients I see are massive and families are massive. I'm 15stone and 5ft 10, ex boxer, rugby player and 12 years in the army. But I felt small compared to the rest of the waiting room!

The only way to describe this girl in particular would be FAT! I pointed her out and said to my wife, "she wouldn't fit in a Westfield..." Never have I seen my wife laugh uncontrollably for so long. She had to get up, go to the toilets and compose herself!

My nephew's 8 and a streak of wee wee, I go for little 2-3mile jogs with him, take him climbing and he's really active. Into anything I suggest! But he gets bullied for being the skinny kid! The 4 eyed, fat ginger kid is king of the playground... What happened?

The reason it is popular is that it vindicates the lifstyle of those watching. So at one end you have made in Chelsea for the rich wannabes at the other end you have the soaps and now this trash and the TLC channel.

It is a sad reflection on the world that the lives of a common overweight American family is interesting to others. And while ever people watch it enough to attract advertising the channels will put this rubbish on. Don't forget this is made on a shoestring budget so is popular with the money people.

...Sky...... bin it.

TV has got so bad I never just "watch" tv now. I schedule and record things I like, and watch films I download. That's it.

Apple TV £100

Net flix £6 a month
