WINGNUT

Recommended Posts

Please excuse my,

Stupidity? rudeness? ignorance? lack of knowledge?

Whichever it maybe though, could anybody please tell me why going out for a drive is referred to as a BLAT!!

Where has it come from and why?

Just curious more than anything!

Initially thought everyone was dyslexic and meant blast

forgive me

Wingnut, I'm not sure that's right though. I used to wonder why we called it a "blat" and when I asked (on Blatchat) was told it was a biking term.

I don't know, what I don't know is my maxim.

Yes it's me and HM wearing an orange on her head. The car is black with dayglo yellow roll bar. This is nature's warning colours (wasps?).

It's getting a cosmetic going over this summer the carbon is being lacquered and the really bad bits are being painted matt black. The roll bar is being painted dayglow yellow. It was changed when it had a new chassis in 2006 and I made a real mess of painting it with a rattle can. Now letting the expert known as SteveD do it properly.

Paul, funny you say that. I eventually realised she couldn't see over the aero. She had never mentioned it. During the rebuild I raised her seat so she could see out.

She's never been in it since!
