The black westfield on the website is mine... I don t mind but she could have asked...The black boot bag is not made by Leslie. The hood bag is nice but a little weak around the straps, the vinyl tears easily. Just ask for a double layer in this area.

1st Leslie asked for and I sent pictures of my Robin Hood... She didn't use those pictures!

2nd The bag did feel a bit flimsy, but folds into itself and zips up well. The double layer's a good idea. As the Robin Hood was a very different size I had pretty much every dimension changed and had it so the bag strapped to front of roll bar, right behind the seats and this gave me a bit more space for loading up the back.

I do find the soft bits bag with it's full length opening easier to put the hood away. Also has an extra wire loop, to padlock to your roll bar. If I was to buy another one I think I would go soft bits again. Leslie's was a bit fiddly to slide hood into and get it to fit. But the soft bits is smaller, so hood's rolled up right or it's difficult to fit.

I don't recall how much I paid for mine .. £65 sounds about right though. The bag on her website was the first one she did for me (I was the first Westy that she had made a hood bag for). My mate liked it so much that he immediately bought it off me, which gave me the opportunity to get Leslie to make me another one with slightly altered (smaller) dimensions and the logo in a gunmetal grey.

Probably not the clearest picture but you get the idea..

Is that a wind stopper on Bombero's car??? I need one!!!

Jill's (Soft bits for Sevens) bag is designed to strap to the roll bar.

Some people use her bag to store clothes in. However these should always be wrapped inside a good bin liner as in heavy rain the bags let water in. Covered in black dye.

It is indeed! :) It made from a fine mesh, the kind that you get from garden centres - sometimes sold as the mesh to protect fruit patches and sometimes as 'weed hold back' carpeting in flower beds, etc.

Cut out a piece slightly smaller than your rollbar aperture, buy some cloth trim and some velcro, then get busy with a sewing machine! Mine is not fastened along the bottom edge, but with the mesh pulled tight between the rollbar uprights, there's no slack along the bottom.

Hope this helps..

Certainly one of the neatest looking windblockers I've seen.

The wind blocker is stealing the thread!

Is it effective? My S2000 had Perspex between the high back seats and worked pretty well, my Astra cab had a big mesh that covered back seats then came up behind the front seats, windows up, mesh up and was zero turbulence. It was the most economical way to drive too! Roof up, windows up was less MPG. My mates Z3 had a little mesh triangle that I said looked like a well groomed lady garden, but the car was still very windy compared to most modern drop tops.

I like the design and simplicity of it. I'm thinking of Velcro on vertical bars same height as seats, on inside edge, then wrap it around and use the to secure. Off to the garden centre me thinks!

It's a Westfield goodness me. You're supposed to get blown about, flies in the face and generally deafened.

If you don't like that then get a hairdressers car.

THANK YOU!!!

Now tell Mrs C! She won't let me leave doors at home when she's in it. Roof/doors only leave garage if it's raining when she's in the kitchen and I'm out... Problem with British weather is some of the time it rains while I'm out!!! I was curious to weather it actually worked. I'd thought it would trap the wind and even deflect it back into the cockpit... Hehehe cockpit

I was going to Velcro it in for when she came out, might make it more appealing, well one less thing to whine about! Although getting out of Birmingham is always toughest bit, once out of the city area Mrs C calms down.

HM would come with me from Sheffield down to Sussex on the LM trip. Then she would blag a lift from someone with a screen and doors. Anyone, she wasn't fussy.

You have to let these women know who's boss.

But does it work??????

Yep, it works! It's obviously not there to get rid of the buffeting but does greatly reduce the turbulence of air around the nape of your neck.

For the Caterham hood bag, I'd go for the SV slightly larger one - less chance of breaking the windscreen plastic channel stuffing it into the bag.

Kinda what I was expecting, not nearly enough to get Mrs C happy!

But as I said before, main issue is Birmingham traffic! Even today she said how nice it'd be if not for the driving. At work today the discussion was RTC's... I'll stop there.

Back to post, have you found which way you'd like to go as far as a bag?
