Rory's Dad Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 That's all good to know Simon - If this is indeed a 'new dawn' then may I suggest: Carbon front wings option Small headlights option All black powder-coated panels A black powdercoated dash (eg the existing one minus the vinyl covering) Undrilled carbon dash option Electric mirror option (MGF) A sort out of the tunnel top panelling. Some good plain grp seats (such as JK Composites) A proper Playskool type roll bar or cage (the existing cosmetic unit needs chucking) A redesigned boot box to accomodate the rol bar/cage rear stays etc. The fake carbon stuff needs chucking too (IMO). It does not fit with the 'enthusiast' market but if the components didn't have the fake carbon facing then the plain black plastic would be good for front wings, rear arch protectors etc. I'm sure we are all keen to see Westfield prosper and, as others have said, this model looks like the means to do it. Although I cannot afford one, pushing up the price will not matter (see Caterham's sales figures) and will open up a new market for you. Rory's Dad Quote
Simon Westwood - Westfield Sportscars Ltd Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Hi Martin, Thanks for the feed back and the options suggested. Most of them are already available Carbon front wings option - already exist Small headlights option - unsure on the IVA status of these All black powder-coated panels - already exist's and is on the demo car A black powdercoated dash (eg the existing one minus the vinyl covering) - IVA issues Undrilled carbon dash option - good idea Electric mirror option (MGF) - nice idea but may be complicated A sort out of the tunnel top panelling.- good idea Some good plain grp seats (such as JK Composites) - we have a host of seats available including plain GRP A proper Playskool type roll bar or cage (the existing cosmetic unit needs chucking) - we offer an FIA cage and have done for many years and also offer a braced roll bar as an option. A redesigned boot box to accomodate the rol bar/cage rear stays - good idea etc. The carbon effect stuff is popular however not mandatory. Again thanks for your thoughts. Kind regards Simon Quote
Captain Colonial Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Simon, KugaWestie added the electric MGF mirrors and has a blog on how he did it here. All right, maybe not MGF mirrors necessarily, but as a general idea, it's not a bad one to explore as a possible option. Wasn't too complicated for him so I can't imagine it would be at factory level (and no, that wasn't a swipe or backhanded compliment at either him of the factory!). Quote

Rory's Dad Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Simon It's not really for me to tell you how to run your business but it seems to me that it all wants packaging properly. I'll await the next Westfield World with interest! Rory's Dad Quote
