  1. Video of my first track day at Castle Combe 29 April 2019. A few moments at 6 and 11 minutes Generally handled great, but definitely need to upgrade to track day tyres, T1Rs are not the best! Had a great day and good to see everyone @David tucker @Chris Broster - Bristol & Bath AO @SXRORY @Simon_Jones Llandow next on 18 May
  2. Reminder for the day out at Castle Combe on 23 March to watch the Speed Series as part of the Bristol Motor Club . I'm travelling up with @AdgeC and we're planning to get there for 09:30-10:00. We can meet with others travelling up at about 08:00 in Wells if anyone's about? Let us know. We'll be aiming to park at Camp corner parking area alongside Dean Straight - red on the map (entrance from the main entrance on the bend off the main road) and will have a flag up (and be in Westfield's of course!) We'll wait around there for a bit to see if any of you have arrived by then. Otherwise can I suggest we all try to meet outside the Restaurant (aka 'The Tavern Clubhouse') in the paddock at 11:00 for a catch up and to see if we can get a group picture around Simon's car and see if Tom is there in his Mini. Then enjoy the rest of the day in the sun watching the on-track action (it will be sunny) Dave

  4. This to advertise the forthcoming Castle Combe Classic, Kit & Retro Action day. DATE Saturday 20th June 2015 TIME 9.00 am start until 5.00 pm WHERE Castle Combe Circuit -- near Chippenham, Wilts: SN14 7EY WEB http://www.completekitcar.co.uk/castlecombe.html COSTS Entry is FREE for the first 20 members (or £15 on the day) and passengers in our display cars also have to pay but children 16 or under are free 15 minute track sessions are £35 per car per on the day or £25 if bought in advance before 12th June We have chosen this day as the best of the Castle Combe events for club members and CHRIS VAREY has kindly agreed to organise the day for us he is the man with the 20 FOC tickets to be allocated first-come, first-served so contact CHRIS on 07860 292957 or email him on chrisvarey@beaufortellis.co.uk With the demise of the Donington Kit Car show, Complete Kit Car Magazine (CKC) have joined forces with Castle Coombe to create the Classic, Kit and Retro Action Day. CKC have created a Special Display area, or Kit Car Village, in the prime central pits area and we, the Cotswold Westfield Club, have been able to secure 20 FREE passes for car and driver in The Village. As ever its a great venue to meet other Westfield owners from not just our own Cotswold area, but also meeting our neighbours from Bath and Bristol, Thames Valley, North Oxford also Hants and Wilts. We will be inviting our neighbours so it will be first come first served for the free tickets. The village will also host many other Kit Car Clubs so there will be plenty of like-minded folk to meet. It is also a great chance to get out on to this brilliant track for very little cost, though you dont have to go on track to enjoy this day out as theres plenty of car clubs with their own car/marque display areas, various trade stands, auto-jumbles and the Merlin Motorsport shop for any bits you need to buy! Kit Car manufacturers may also be doing passenger rides if you sound like you are going to buy one of their products! GETTING ON THE TRACK - PASSES You can buy your track passes in advance by going onto the Castle Combe website admissions page. When you book just say you are part of the Westfield Sports Car Club Cotswolds. The cost is £25 if bought before the 12th June or £35 if bought on the day. If you dont want to buy in advance, you could follow Chris Vareys advice and wait and snap up any unwanted tickets at a discount for sessions at the last minute or later in the day as said it can be cheap track day!!! Please note that your car will be DBA sound-checked and must be road legal. There may also be a sound check for cars on track. DRIVING STANDARDS ON THE TRACK The Organisers keep a close watch on driving standards, issuing yellow and red cards to prevent any offenders getting back on the track. You must attend a briefing session before you go out and collect a wrist band. NOISE CHECKS Castle Combe are notoriously fussy about this so it will pay to get your car checked before you pay money for sessions. The sound limit is 100 dB(A) - measured at the exhaust pipe at 4500rpm on a static test. Your car may be completely road legal, but if it doesnt meet their sound test - then it cant go out. CAMPING If you are coming some distance overnight Camping is available on the Friday 19th only FOR MORE INFORMATION Contact Complete Kit Car: Ian Stent on 01823 617908 or email ian@performancepublishing.co.uk Drive fast and safely in 2015 Andrew Reeves Your AO for COTSWOLD AREA (Cheltenham+Gloucester+N.Wilts) The Old Tythe Barn, School Lane, Ripple.
