Please go to the Show and Events page on the forum. I have pinned a topic that details the main shows that the events team will be organising this year along with dates. The Replica and self build festival is on the list. Simon has significant participation commitments from suppliers . More so at this time than Grosvenor have for Malvern I'm led to believe.3 points

Hi Malcolm LONG VERSION: You can ignore it, everything is fine. It’s related to me working backstage on straightening out the recent small issue with unwanted and unexpected auto renewals. I could explain it to you in depth but by the time I finished typing it and you lost the will to live reading it, it’s entirely possible that the Sun might go supernova and bring me sweet relief from forum histrionics. SHORT VERSION: You can ignore it, everything is fine. Sorry for any inconvenience, good sir.3 points

Hi Martin @Martin Aldred - Shows & Events Coordinator Will you be looking for volunteers this year? if so, @Terence Arthur & myself are planning to support Friday thru to Sunday to set up & strip down. We’re be camping too if available… And bonus, I’m sure Tez will support with one of the 40 Red cars…2 points

Just to bring this full circle....I had what I believe is the first calendar/magazine arrive at my house yesterday. It was post-marked December 15th. This means it took just shy of two months to arrive. I have to wonder where the original envelope spent the last two months! Thank you for getting the original and then the replacement out to me. I feel funny about asking for a replacement now and at the same time who expects something to take so long in the post? dave2 points

I went to Stonleigh a few weeks ago. It's business as usual as far as entry is concerned. Access was fine. There maybe a queue as ass from from the Bagington side is closed for HS2 works. The showground is significantly smaller but it's definitely business as usual.2 points

I know this is just a bit of fun but I wonder if the post ranking system is setting the bar a bit high? Could it not be an incentive to encourage a wider participation - especially for newer members - in the forums? Perhaps you could progress through the ranking based on cumulative number of post views ? Other forums do this and typically after a thousand views you reach the next rank.2 points

It’s just a bit of fun that the forum software writers came up with. Try not to read anything into it. For instance, I’ve got a shedload of points and posts that the unaware might think demonstrates I’m wise and knowledgeable. The reaction emojis soon to pop up at the bottom of this post will show you otherwise…2 points

Oh i see . I store alot of useless info in my head and meet alot of different people who own westfields and i'd say there isnt a single part or car i cannot find from a fw400 full car to a set of AP race calipers i can find it2 points

I don't want the Captain wandering around outside. He's far too useful sat at his keyboard keeping the forum and our membership happy!2 points

Are you and @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO working together?!? Btw, you’d be amazed what you can access and get away with while wearing a hi-viz. I also recommend a “Motorway Maintenance” sticker on the back of your car and an amber light for beating motorway traffic jams. (I never worked in road maintenance, but it works.)2 points

In order to prevent the club having poor relations with them due to my “thoughts and experiences”, I shall refrain from sharing them - colourful as they are. Stoneleigh is a LOT closer for me (5 miles!), but there has to be a question mark over it at the moment. Those of you familiar will know that HS2 is going straight through the showground and has been causing local traffic issues for years. They are currently reworking the road outside the showground entrance substantially. By that, I mean that road is currently completely shut between Stoneleigh village and Blackdown. Will they get it done in time? I’m not betting on it.2 points

@Martin Aldred - Shows & Events Coordinator may I leave you to reply? @Boftus we started to advertise Malvern at the end of March last year. We may start earlier this year but are constrained by Grosvenor Show, as they don't supply information of confirmation of our plot etc until then. Great to read you're keen to support.2 points

As Scott said, I have found and removed all of the (encrypted) card details that were on file, so that from now on no auto-renewals should be possible. If anyone does get billed, please shout up.2 points

The Webmaster (all hail the Webmaster and name your first born after him) was also stumped, but on digging deep into the quagmire of info discovered an encrypted file containing stored encrypted card details. I agreed with him that was probably where the issue was, which did not occur until the club changed payment portals from PayPal to Stripe just over a year ago. He asked if those card details (which were encrypted, just to be clear again) should be deleted, to which I said yes, do it please. So if anything goes wrong, it’s on my head. The only tiny inconvenience is that no one will be able to store their card details backstage any longer, so you will need to input your full card details every time you purchase or renew your membership, but better that than the system taking it without your or our knowledge. Will keep an eye on this…. Pass the vodka, please.2 points

Hi All, I've got my begging bowl out again sorry I'm running the Great Manchester Half Marathon Run on Sunday 31st May 2026 (Yes, sadly this means I won't be at Malvern this year!). This will be my 5 attempt at this event. I'm often offered beer, cake, coffee, bacon sandwiches and more in payment for support and help, I willing give to the great members of this club, hence I'd much prefer donations to this great cause for deeds done in the past or ones yet to happen. Therefore please give generously here- Just Giving Many thanks. Ian1 point

Or alternatively, donate to ensure Ian doesn’t show up at Malvern in his Bagpuss costume - I did. I look forward to getting free biscuits, as the site invited me to “Accept cookies”.1 point

There’s posts and then there’s points - two different things. Points are for reactions you get to things you post. https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topmembers/ …as does talking a load of nonsense that people like. Ask me how I know - I need the posts & points. /1 of 4 Peter Perfects1 point

Posts.... as in the table above you need rather a lot... I've been a member for 4 years and am an Average Joe Driver needing another 293 posts for promotion. Writing a build diary helps with the post count....1 point

oh dear, are they a bit rubbish? I appreciate it will not be you guys delaying sending info out. But, with there being a new show at Stoneleigh, i wasn't sure if there might be a switch for WSCC main show attendance. Malvern is a great venue, but Stoneleigh is more central and closer to me i would probably only be able to do the Saturday at either venue this year as Malvern is a trek and Stoneleigh clashes with Kimbolton Country Fayre (which is the best mixed car show in the East Midlands/East Anglia region that that i organise a WSCC stand for at least 6 cars (massive effort ) (more should attend!)) I believe the promo on here started in Jan last year1 point

@Rednop1 I agree his expectations and phrases are unusual. Though his English is far better than my Spanish. We'll keep an eye on his posts, but there's not a lot else we can do to validate him. As with all buying and selling on here, I'd be wary of a new member and would prefer to trade with someone who's demonstrated a good trading record such as that nice chap in the West Midlands with lots of car parts down the back of his sofa!1 point

It's been a good white since I've shared any photos of my car...so it's time I guess! This photo was taken by my wife and while I was autocrossing in a local church parking lot. I like how the big, wide and sticky tires distort under the heavy cornering loads. It's winter here now and snow covers the roads and the Westie is tucked away warm and safe in the shop waiting for the sun to melt the ice. dave1 point
