  1. Finally got to pick the car up today and got it home on one of the only dry days we are going to have for a good few days lol Thanks to Toybox Cars Its a 2.0 Ford Pinto with dual 45 webers, hopefully in the new year I shall start playing around with the engine a bit more, maybe a nice new head and cam from Burton power and then see what kind of power I can get from it. But for now will enjoy it as is well when we get some decent weather haha

  2. It's been a good white since I've shared any photos of my car...so it's time I guess! This photo was taken by my wife and while I was autocrossing in a local church parking lot. I like how the big, wide and sticky tires distort under the heavy cornering loads. It's winter here now and snow covers the roads and the Westie is tucked away warm and safe in the shop waiting for the sun to melt the ice. dave

  3. Finally managed to find time to make a tool for removing/installing suspension bushings as I don't have a press.

  4. I thought I would resurrect this thread as we are entering the time of year that see's mental health issues raise their heads again. Local to me a young girl hung herself after being made redundant which was the straw that broke the camels back from what others have said. Plus today a person has been hit by a train again near where I live, not clear yet if this was an accident but it was on a stretch not readily open to the public. I like many have had issues in the past and most of us may know people who might appreciate a friendly chat, so I know we are busy but that chat might be just what they need. Just a thought

  5. So finally had a chance to get into the garage to sort the worn bushings out and try the tool i made. I made a couple of modifications including adding clearance where it butts up against the wishbone as some have larger welds than others, and also to make a custom nut with a very long thread to try to avoid stripping threads. This also makes it easier to use as a socket no longer needs to fit in. I can confirm that it worked - I knew two of the bushings were worn, but ended up replacing five as I found some of the others were worn. This was all I had to hand and I haven't even started on the rear suspension yet. Photos are the tool with modifications, the tool in use for removal, and the end result with the removed bushing on the tool. Installation was easier than removal. I changed the front upper bushings on the car without removing the wishbones so it ended up being relatively easy. I don't know why this worked when others have needed so much force for removal, but there was no significant rust at all so maybe that made it easier?

  6. Christmas present from me to me - pointless engine compartment bling: Who knows when it'll get fitted though, probably not until January or February.

  7. Notice of Correction – Lakes & Dales Tour 2 Please note that the Lakes & Dales Tour 2 advertised in the Westfield World Winter Edition 2025 magazine contains an error. The dates listed as 22nd–23rd June are incorrect; the event will in fact take place on 15th–16th June. In addition, One day remains a tour of the Lake District & the other a tour of the Yorkshire Dales, not the Peak District as previously stated. We apologise for any confusion caused and thank members for their understanding.

  8. Big shoutout to @Westfield Chesil Limited, after UPS managed to lose my first order of front hub grease caps, Ed and Jason managed to sort me another pair in time ahead of my track day tomorrow. Cheers lads!

  9. Well, the challenge is now officially over. If I'm being honest, I'm disappointed that it didn't strike a chord with more members and take off the way I wanted it to, but that's the breaks sometimes. Anyway, I'm a man of my word, so congratulations to individual winner @Paul Baker and to local area winners @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset and his members. A small, cheap but personalised engraved trophy is on its way to you - enjoy!

  17. I remember years ago, the first year that Toblerone did the really massive bars for Christmas (about a yard long and 10lb in weight) I bought one for the wife. I wrapped it up and put it under the tree, a parcel really obviously Toblerone shaped. She went around for weeks saying to people "I don't know what David's bought me. It's like a Toblerone but really big." People would say, "maybe it's a Toblerone" but she'd answer, "no it's like a Toblerone but really really really big." It was hilarious.

  19. Arrived unexpectedly Wednesday! Obtained courtesy of a local WSCC WhatsApp group member Rory Jones. He's probably on here too but I don't know his handle. He and some friends did a charity event for the British Heart Foundation. It was a box-kart race in Bristol. This was their 2nd time hence the 'return' bit. It made the Points West news and he very kindly allowed me to buy a shirt! I mean how could I resist right! This will be my shirt for Malvern next year, hopefully it will be 4th time lucky as I've been kiboshed every time so far! 🥺 It would be nice to meet some of the names and faces I now know from this forum! Your efforts are much appreciated Rory!

  22. New 9 inch puller fan plus brackets and controller from Revotec to go onto the XI's radiator. Should work more efficiently than the awful bracket that the kit comes with that blocks 30% of the surface area. Brackets not fully fitted at this point - just positioned it all on the rad for photo attention.

  23. Testing the waters to see if there is interest in my XI, sad to say am selling because getting in and out is proving to be a major problem and so driving hours have been much diminished. I will get some additional photos and details in a few days, but its fully running, managed to do a single Track Day this summer and the car is fully sorted and comes with a bunch of spare parts. Materially upset about taking this course of action, but I don’t have a Museum and none of my kids drive a stick shift. Purchased off BaT in 2021 and got it sorted and ready to track and drive on nice roads. Will probably put it on BaT in the New Year if I can’t sell through the Forum. Would like to get $42,500.00 for the car. Send me a pm to discuss or reply here and I will get back to you.

  40. Hi All, I'm new here.. I have recently purchased this race only Arrows/Westfield and have had 2 outings at the local Track in Perth Western Australia Extremely good fun to say the least!! https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=d9b505f2e406a13e917d5ff1374491be16da6392d3da732f49977b312a8dfb97JmltdHM9MTc2NDExNTIwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=03fd3379-7177-65d2-1cc4-253d70b46490&psq=arrows%2fclubman+for+sale&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFjZWJvb2suY29tL21hcmtldHBsYWNlL2l0ZW0vMTE2ODk5MTAyNDkwNDI1Ny8

  41. Please note that several posts have been hidden as they were about the qualities of SEights in general and not this car for sale, and were therefore off topic and against club policy in adverts in order to help sellers and buyers alike - thank you.

  42. We picked up our hire car this morning and headed north, En route i spotted signs for this place, it wasn’t planned honest 😉 it was 30$ each to get in Margaret wasn’t really interested (she’s followed me round loads of car museums) so I said I’ll go in you wait out there in the sun I’ll only be 5 minutes, the young lady at the desk said it’s ok it’s free today, she must have taken pity on two little old folks😂 so in we went, Margaret lasted 5 mins, I lasted quite a bit longer.

  44. bush_install_tool Drawing v1.pdf Tried to get all the information on ones sheet - tolerance is pretty loose on this as long as it fits. It should be pretty self-explanatory in how it is used. The tube component has a rebate for the wishbone so fits on one way around. The part that fits on the end of the tube is designed to be reversible - so is used one way around with the tube for removal, then the other way around without the tube for install. The smaller component is used for removal of the old bushing (and install of the new one) and has clearance for the inner crush tube on one side to ensure it presses against the outer metal sleeve of the bushing.
