First run out of the year for most of us. Nice and sunny , we were in the shade but in prime position right outside the restaurant. Think we managed 10 cars, forgot to count, with @DannyTGS and @Jakejmagee making the trip. There will probably be another Kit Car and Modified day later in the year. Thanks to all who came.7 points

Great News our application for a Club Display area at the BRDC 2026 has been accepted by Silverstone Events. We have requested a Parade lap and are waiting to see if our request will be approved. Car Club Display Package Tickets are now available to purchase on the Silverstone web site. Please bear with us as this year Silverstone Events have been very specific about the criteria for clubs they are accepting and are asking all clubs to verify ticket purchases. I am waiting for clarification from Silverstone on what they are expecting from us as a club with regards verification. Once this is clear I will update this post with the Club code.6 points

I’ve been chasing an oil leak that I’d finally whittled down to either the rear main seal (RMS) or the gearbox input shaft seal. I decided to tackle the fix in my own garage for the first time. To make it work, I bought a new low-profile engine hoist that allowed me to drive the car over the legs; this meant I could push the car in and out of the garage to create the space I needed. I managed to get the engine out and back in within a day. Admittedly, the dry sump makes the job slightly more complex, but I bought some AN12 and AN10 caps so I could seal the pipework and pull the tank out while it was still full of oil. Once I pulled the flywheel to check the RMS, it actually looked perfectly dry. The front end of the gearbox, however, didn’t look quite so good!4 points

The Great British Car Journey museum are hosting a breakfast meet where everyone is invited in any type of car, so I think we will accept their invite. The deal is for £7.95 you get a full English breakfast AND a hot drink in the cafe, that's not bad hey? Coates award winning sausages included, made from Packington free range pork. Meet at 10am, Sunday 22 March, DE56 2HE After breakfast we will head off into the Peak District to enjoy the better weather and the drier roads, no fog this time perhaps. This is the WSCC part of the meet, so to keep it fair, paying members only on the run out please. Who is joining us? See the adverts here https://greatbritishcarjourney.com/events-calendar/ https://www.facebook.com/GreatBritishCarJourney3 points

Had a good half day at Snetterton today.. Been suffering with a dodgy shoulder but luckily it didn't stop me driving..will probably regret it later or tomorrow when the pills wear off! Was my first time on track since last July for various reasons. The day wasn't sold out so plenty of free running. I had found it hard to get a good brake pedal despite plenty of bleeding. On track this proved to be the same. I tried bleeding the brakes but no air came out. I was concerned I had nick a seal during the brakes overhaul. After a good coat of looking at I noticed a tiny weep of brake fluid on the chassis below the brake switch..I nipped up the two solid pipe connections into the master cylinder and the two either side of the switch T and went out again and the brakes were great..really pleased. I then did some set up with the springs on the front as I was getting lock up on one side.. but raising one spring half a turn and lowering the other half a turn after two goes got the braking even. The car handled ok and with the slightly stiffer springs I noticed less body roll. I have more work to do refining the ride height and damper settings.. The weather was cold really windy and sunny with rain forecast for mid afternoon.. so I called it a day at lunchtime having had plenty of running and my shoulder telling me it was time to go home! Now need to get my next day booked3 points

Google TVR Glen thoroughly before even thinking about buying anything from that operation. We’ve seen a surprising number of Westfields that were written off belonging to owners on here go through his doors. The damage description has NEVER once fully matched what the previous owner described. Nor does it usually match the photos the owners have put on the forum.3 points

Let's celebrate the 40th anniversay of our car club by meeting at The Great British Car Journey at 10am for their Kit Car Kaboodle event. There will be a small entrance fee of which the committee will pay towards. More details will be posted on here the week before.3 points

As part of the club's 40th Anniversary I think the best way to celebrate is to drive our Westfield's, so why not join Glen and I for a drive around the Peak District. Meeting point details and route plan will be posted on here the week before, let's invite the sunshine too shall we?3 points

Difficult to fit an electric reverse to a westfield tunnels very narrow compared to mk no where to mount motor i think a couple of westie owners have done it at the front end but not easy.took mine to mk sportscars and they told me to forget it not happening.1 point

Still a work in progress on mine but if you check the downloads section there are 3D models already available. https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/files/category/112-the-mofast-files-an-archive/ I wanted mine to fit from above rather than underneath like the existing available models. For honey comb I used a free model online and just trimmed it down to fit the vent.1 point

I love the eBay description: “No Suspension or Chassis Damage. The damage is only to the high level bar on the entry area of the passenger side” Is that not the chassis?1 point

Ahh, TVR Glen! The tales I could tell you about him and this operation... if I weren't on a public forum and those comments would unnecessarily land me and the club in a courtroom... Allow me to say something that I can say without that happening: MANY OTHER PLACES TO BUY A WESTFIELD ARE AVAILABLE - SEARCH THEM FIRST BEFORE YOU BUY1 point

Here we have a pair of original Westfield doors for a narrow body. They are in good used condition. There are a few marks on them having been stored for a while. - the window transparent plastic is nice and clear. Would prefer local collection from Bishops Waltham (Southampton) so you can get eyes on them to make sure they are what you want. Else, Please get in contact and we can arrange postage. Looking for £160, and probably £20 to post. Any questions, please just post or call 077603189221 point

These arrived today, hopefully enough in here to join most of the XI loom bits together. Main loom is on order from Autosparks, have gone for a generic loom with more circuits than I currently need. It can take up to 14 weeks to arrive... will have to get on with something else for a bit... Also in recent arrivals was an IVA foglight module from MK sports cars along with a momentary toggle switch to trigger the latching relay.1 point
