  1. Finally got to pick the car up today and got it home on one of the only dry days we are going to have for a good few days lol Thanks to Toybox Cars Its a 2.0 Ford Pinto with dual 45 webers, hopefully in the new year I shall start playing around with the engine a bit more, maybe a nice new head and cam from Burton power and then see what kind of power I can get from it. But for now will enjoy it as is well when we get some decent weather haha

  2. It's been a good white since I've shared any photos of my car...so it's time I guess! This photo was taken by my wife and while I was autocrossing in a local church parking lot. I like how the big, wide and sticky tires distort under the heavy cornering loads. It's winter here now and snow covers the roads and the Westie is tucked away warm and safe in the shop waiting for the sun to melt the ice. dave

  3. I just wanted to say hi, I have re-joined the club after being away for probably over 25 years. The good news is I still own my Westfield SE that I purchased 36 years ago, the bad news is it's been stood in a garage for around 23 years so is now in need of a full rebuild. Anyway pulled it out of the garage it was stored in and have relocated it close to my home, I need to find storage space for my other toy so I can get the Westy into the garage at home to start the rebuild. She's a 1988/1989 kit, narrow body SE with a 1600 xflow. I'm sure I'll be looking for some help along the way specifically locating parts or newer alternatives. Richard

  5. We picked up our hire car this morning and headed north, En route i spotted signs for this place, it wasn’t planned honest 😉 it was 30$ each to get in Margaret wasn’t really interested (she’s followed me round loads of car museums) so I said I’ll go in you wait out there in the sun I’ll only be 5 minutes, the young lady at the desk said it’s ok it’s free today, she must have taken pity on two little old folks😂 so in we went, Margaret lasted 5 mins, I lasted quite a bit longer.

  6. I thought I would resurrect this thread as we are entering the time of year that see's mental health issues raise their heads again. Local to me a young girl hung herself after being made redundant which was the straw that broke the camels back from what others have said. Plus today a person has been hit by a train again near where I live, not clear yet if this was an accident but it was on a stretch not readily open to the public. I like many have had issues in the past and most of us may know people who might appreciate a friendly chat, so I know we are busy but that chat might be just what they need. Just a thought

  7. Notice of Correction – Lakes & Dales Tour 2 Please note that the Lakes & Dales Tour 2 advertised in the Westfield World Winter Edition 2025 magazine contains an error. The dates listed as 22nd–23rd June are incorrect; the event will in fact take place on 15th–16th June. In addition, One day remains a tour of the Lake District & the other a tour of the Yorkshire Dales, not the Peak District as previously stated. We apologise for any confusion caused and thank members for their understanding.

  10. Well, the challenge is now officially over. If I'm being honest, I'm disappointed that it didn't strike a chord with more members and take off the way I wanted it to, but that's the breaks sometimes. Anyway, I'm a man of my word, so congratulations to individual winner @Paul Baker and to local area winners @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset and his members. A small, cheap but personalised engraved trophy is on its way to you - enjoy!

  16. I remember years ago, the first year that Toblerone did the really massive bars for Christmas (about a yard long and 10lb in weight) I bought one for the wife. I wrapped it up and put it under the tree, a parcel really obviously Toblerone shaped. She went around for weeks saying to people "I don't know what David's bought me. It's like a Toblerone but really big." People would say, "maybe it's a Toblerone" but she'd answer, "no it's like a Toblerone but really really really big." It was hilarious.

  18. Arrived unexpectedly Wednesday! Obtained courtesy of a local WSCC WhatsApp group member Rory Jones. He's probably on here too but I don't know his handle. He and some friends did a charity event for the British Heart Foundation. It was a box-kart race in Bristol. This was their 2nd time hence the 'return' bit. It made the Points West news and he very kindly allowed me to buy a shirt! I mean how could I resist right! This will be my shirt for Malvern next year, hopefully it will be 4th time lucky as I've been kiboshed every time so far! 🥺 It would be nice to meet some of the names and faces I now know from this forum! Your efforts are much appreciated Rory!

  20. New 9 inch puller fan plus brackets and controller from Revotec to go onto the XI's radiator. Should work more efficiently than the awful bracket that the kit comes with that blocks 30% of the surface area. Brackets not fully fitted at this point - just positioned it all on the rad for photo attention.

  21. Testing the waters to see if there is interest in my XI, sad to say am selling because getting in and out is proving to be a major problem and so driving hours have been much diminished. I will get some additional photos and details in a few days, but its fully running, managed to do a single Track Day this summer and the car is fully sorted and comes with a bunch of spare parts. Materially upset about taking this course of action, but I don’t have a Museum and none of my kids drive a stick shift. Purchased off BaT in 2021 and got it sorted and ready to track and drive on nice roads. Will probably put it on BaT in the New Year if I can’t sell through the Forum. Would like to get $42,500.00 for the car. Send me a pm to discuss or reply here and I will get back to you.

  37. Hi All, I'm new here.. I have recently purchased this race only Arrows/Westfield and have had 2 outings at the local Track in Perth Western Australia Extremely good fun to say the least!! https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=d9b505f2e406a13e917d5ff1374491be16da6392d3da732f49977b312a8dfb97JmltdHM9MTc2NDExNTIwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=03fd3379-7177-65d2-1cc4-253d70b46490&psq=arrows%2fclubman+for+sale&u=a1aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZmFjZWJvb2suY29tL21hcmtldHBsYWNlL2l0ZW0vMTE2ODk5MTAyNDkwNDI1Ny8

  38. Westfield Seight, V8 Less than 3 yrs old, and has only done 1200 miles. Kit purchased in 2007 by an elderly gentleman who never built it, I purchased it in 2016, and it went through IVA in 2022 having spent 6 years building it to a very high standard. It was issued with a new 22 plate and went through IVA 1st time. Always garaged and has never seen a drop of rain. No doubt one of the last Seights to be registered. This car has been built by myself with a ‘no compromise on quality’ approach. As you can see by the specification, I’ve only used the highest quality components. The engine block used was also one of the last units that came off the production line and as such is one of the most reliable blocks rover produced. I have a ton of history, folders and receipts for the car, which will all go to the new owner. The engine has been correctly mapped and has been designed for drivability, the car is incredibly smooth and ballistically fast, but at the same time easy to drive. The aeroscreen is surprisingly good at keeping the wind off, and it rides beautifully thanks to a full NMS geo set up. Just had an oil and filter change (Valvoline Vr1) Will come with a Laptop that has preloaded software to control the Canems ECU (should you every want to remap), DASH 2 (can be completely re-configured), Freewheel configuration Car will be MOT’ed before sale and comes with a set of spare keys. Please, no time wasters or silly offers, the money will be going towards another future build (but not this year). But if you do want to own what is no doubt one of the best Westfield V8’s out there, then message me if interested. An incredible specification car and almost new……..£21500 Tel: Paul - 07718657173 Chassis and body work • Correct Seight Chassis – One of the last • Finished in Westfield Racing Green • Additional venting on bonnet • Air intake routed to side of scuttle for cooler air • Carbon front wheel arches • Carbon Rear arch protectors • Bonnet secured via Aero catches Engine & electrical • Brand new 4ltr Rover V8 short engine with red dot (meaning the thicker, more reliable walls). 39. Please note that several posts have been hidden as they were about the qualities of SEights in general and not this car for sale, and were therefore off topic and against club policy in adverts in order to help sellers and buyers alike - thank you.

  40. I still believe vehicle licence should all be on fuel and not Car TAX, we all know this is just TAX and nothing to do with enviromental reasons My own fleet... Westfield, which does ~2k miles in 6 months costing £~180 which works out 9p per mile or 40p per leter VW camper, which does ~2k miles in 6 months costing £~180 which works out 9p per mile or 73p Per leter Tintop bmw 16K miles £165 per year. 1p per mile or 11p per leter I can't justify taxing the Camper or westfield thoughout the year for maybe the odd drive out in the winter. So they are Sorn 6 months of the year. I can't drive more than one car at once! so the more cars I have the less each one will do yes more revenue for the government I know there's Electric cars but i'd be suprised if something could nto be written into the software to create a pay per mile. Or app.. or black box....

  41. I made one of these for my own car, and have a few spare sets manufactured as back ups. The kit will come with the metalwork needed to make the unit. You would need to make 8 folds, and then bolt the parts together. The folds would depend on the exact measurements of your car. I will send out some instructions to use as guides, but you could customise it further if you wanted to. I can price in fixings if you need however you may wish to use your local supplier. Some additional modifications may be needed to suit your car, but it fits in my SEIW nicely without fuss. The main features are a cubby to put stuff, and the switch panel which can be replaced if you later choose to change the switches, without changing the whole front piece. There's also a small compartment on the top, out of sight to hide things under the dash. I've priced them close to what I paid, I just want them to find a new home! There's a bunch of photos attached to show the parts and the assembly of mine. Hopefully these can be if use to someone! I have 1 full kit in stock, however I have 2 sets that's are missing the side panels, which I can remanufacture if the demand is there or you can make your own. £53 posted or £50 if collected from Hailsham. Hopefully these rambles make sense.. cheers!

  44. bush_install_tool Drawing v1.pdf Tried to get all the information on ones sheet - tolerance is pretty loose on this as long as it fits. It should be pretty self-explanatory in how it is used. The tube component has a rebate for the wishbone so fits on one way around. The part that fits on the end of the tube is designed to be reversible - so is used one way around with the tube for removal, then the other way around without the tube for install. The smaller component is used for removal of the old bushing (and install of the new one) and has clearance for the inner crush tube on one side to ensure it presses against the outer metal sleeve of the bushing.
