  1. Maybe some of you have heard the latest news – Le Mans 2025 was won by Polish driver Robert Kubica! His main sponsor is ORLEN. While I was testing my recently finished (and finally working!) MNR, it seems some folks from ORLEN were watching my driving — and they sent me a whole cistern of their fuel. Nice!

  2. A great big thank you to Marcus Barlow, our Events manager for giving us this tour, here it is from our seat. Thank you for the hats in the best colour! We travelled up the M6 with @AndrewBClarke, @neptune and @Stuart, making our way to the Lakeland Motor Museum for lunch by the river whilst watching the steam train, fantastic start. Lakeland Motor Museum It's cafe by the river, overlooking the cars and steam trains Next we drove along the shores of Lake Windermere to ride on the ferry and experience the Lakes close up After the torrential downpour we were glad to park our cars in the heated underground car park at Travelodge Kendal, what a luxury. I am hoping others will post their experience on here and will include a photo of approx 20 Westfield's tucked up for the night. We went into Kendal town to eat with the 3 Andy's and others The puddings flowed and the frivolities started Next morning we all gathered for the Tour Talk from Marcus Then it was time to set off, excited!! Thanks @Glynn Walters for the photo At The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale It is in a lovely situation Next stop for us was the Honister Slate Mine cafe, here is the Honister Pass And here is us parked up Glenridding, a little mountain village next Time for ice creams Then we went a walk, follow me, puff it's uphill all the way to the top! To Lanty's Tarn For views over Ullswater Glenridding The second day was the Dales tour, over Buttertubs Pass and to the beautiful Simonstone Hall with it's amazing views, stopping for drinks The walk at Malham was cancelled due to rain so we went to Ribblehead Viaduct and sat it out in the Station Inn Our journey home with Andrew was to get down the M6 and pick up the Peak District, getting to the Cupola cafe before separating A fantastic trip, even if I didn't quite have a clue which National Park I was in each day, does it matter? they are all beautiful. Thanks to everyone for making it the awesome trip that it was, now let's have a little pray that Marcus treats us to the same next year XXXXXXXXXXXX

  5. Hi all, just thought I’d give you an update after a bit of a wait .. the Westy has passed its MOT today as a non cat vehicle using the engine specialist report I got and emails from DVSA! You should see the smile on my face and a great day for a blast! Thanks to all for your help and advice with this!!

  6. I’ve been trying to find an opportunity to take my Mum out in the Westfield she helped me buy pretty much since I reacquired it, but somehow it never quite happened. Finally though, the stars aligned on Tuesday. I took the day off for another less pleasant reason in the morning, but that meant I could head up from Crewkerne to Wokingham in the afternoon to see Mum on her 90th birthday, in the Westfield of course. I had some great views of Stonehenge both ways, and it was lovely in the twilight heading home. After various friends had left, I persuaded her to tog up and come out for a spin. Getting her in was not too much of a challenge, and she was snug with the 6 point harness although could have done with a cushion as she could barely see over the dashboard! We headed out through Hurst and Twyford, hitting some sticky traffic at times, but then had a wonderful run back along the B3018 and the Straight Mile and home. She was very brave, didn’t squeal once and actually really enjoyed it. I’m not sure her hair will ever be the same though 🤣. The funniest part was, of course, getting her out again. It took a few goes and I have a hilarious speeded up video of it which I will keep private to save her blushes. So, there can’t be many 90 year olds who’ve been in a Westfield at a decent lick on their birthdays! She will be dining out on that one for a while 👍

  8. There isn’t a section for returning users, so thought Startline was probably the best place to put this. For those of you who don’t know/remember me, I’m Mat and was a member here 3-4 years ago - used to have a green 1.8 Zetec before Covid job loss forced me to sell. For those of you I have met up with previously - hello again, can’t wait to see you all. My partner will confirm I’ve been a right miserable and grumpy sod since selling up, and so delighted to report that I’ve finally managed to rectify the situation. Introducing the Jaffa Cake. A 2.0 Duratec SEiW Deal agreed today and will be collected this coming week at some point. I’m based South Lincs, towards Peterborough. Looking forward to one of your run outs to some cake at some point @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and @AndrewBClarke. Will be in touch with you too@Martin Bell - (Bellyboy) East Anglia AO as I think you’re my closest AO? Thanks Mat

  10. Flat battery this morning meant Team Hall did a quick nose cone off and battery swap. I was impressed when we arrived at the museum that they had reserved our favourite parking spaces on the left under the sign, that's thoughtful of them. Coffee, breakfast butties and relax as we all had a catch up in the cafe at the museum There were lots of Lotus but I personally didn't see one single Caterham, what are they trying to say to the organisers? We went on a lovely run out through the sunny countryside, @Tony H made me laugh when he said how he enjoyed it but hadn't got any clue where he had actually been, that's job satisfaction for me Tony👍 This is the bit where we don't mention ALDI 😁 we arrived at Thornbridge Brewery and it was rather more busy than expected, the Father's Day effect I think. We parked up Ordered the beer and pizza. I had the 0.5% alcohol Green Mountain Hazy Session IPA and it was very good indeed, I am changing my opinion of alcohol free beers, they are actually just like beer. A lot of chat over lunch about next Sunday when we set off on our Lakes and Dales Tour, the excitement is building and everyone is sooooooo looking forward to it. If you visit Bakewell anytime, pop in here it's worth a look A bit different and a really good day out, thanks everyone for coming

  15. Been an owner now for just over 6 months, time for a review of my ownership experience so far. First off I would say as a new owner and new to kit cars, joining the club has been invaluable and anyone reading this, that is not a member I would recommend you join. Why you may say? Firstly there is a wealth of experience and information on the technical and build pages built up over years, invaluable for a new owner that wants to maintain their car to a high standard, and gain understanding of how the cars go together. Then there are the people, I have already met some good people, enjoyed runs out, went to the Malvern kit car show, and enjoy the monthly area meets. It has rekindled my interest in car's, and getting out and about with new people. My intention was to get a few track days a year in, having only managed one at Curbrough, with the Warwickshire group so far (great day out), mainly due to issues I found with my car once I had purchased it, delaying me having the confidence it would survive a trackday. I am Now planning track days in late July, Aug, Sept 🤞 The car i bought, as said at the beginning of this thread, was a factory built car and with a folder full of receipts, the car presenting and seemingly driving well I jumped in. Upon getting the car home i started discovering a plethora of issues poor maintenance and bodged fixes, some detailed else where on this forum, some giving me an excuse to upgrade🤩. I suppose the learning from this is go through any potential purchase with a fine tooth comb, more than you would with a normal vehicle purchase. However the problems I found post purchase would not put me off buying this particular car, as everything was fixable. They would have just been used to leverage the purchase price. Being i also wanted the car to "mess" with the issues I found allowed me to get a good understanding of how the cars go together, and I have to say they are quite easy to work on with most parts being easily accesible. I would therefore summarise by encouraging anyone sitting on the fence about buying one of these cars to jump in with your eyes open, enjoy the experience, be prepared to put a little work in and enjoy getting back to what motoring used to be like 👍 As purchased As it is now

  17. So from work we get a quarterly "wellness allowance". Meant for home office niceties, gym subscriptions, fitness equipment etc. You get the idea. I managed to sneak these through as "gym trainers", in a fetching shade of Westfield blue to match the car. Just right for the treadmill, or a small pedal box, whichever seems more appropriate! 🤣🫣🤫

  20. Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Russell Brynolf, retired engineer, and I've always wanted to build a kit car for myself. Last August I finally received my kit from Westfield, yes, here in the USA, delivered in a large crate containing many, many boxes! Not the best of assembly instructions, and several parts missing, but, overcome those issues and I'm proud to say I finished the build yesterday!! Pictures attached. Next is to get it inspected and registered. To achieve this in Michigan the car is required to have bumpers front and rear at 14-22" from the ground. They will look a little stupid but that the only way to complete the inspection. Engine still runs a little lumpy, but otherwise drives great. let me know any comments or suggestions. Ta.

  26. I've owned my megablade for 18 months now and done nearly 7,000 miles in it trouble free sounds alot yes but I purchased it to drive not park on the drive to buff up.Today whilst out on a drive 30 miles from home I had my first small mechanical failure my gear shift linkage broke leaving me stuck in 6th gear so I turned round and started my journey home which included going through the middle of a large town chelmsford with multiple roundabouts, traffic lights and queues of cars in 6th gear it didn't stall once no clutch burn I was shocked I was able to do this lots of stop start and made it home no problem I can't think of another car I could have done this in pat on the bonnet for my meg. At least I learnt one thing from this I can go from 0 to 130 in one gear.

  27. WOW what a great trip !!!!! Many thanks to all the guys and gals that make these trips an unbelievable experience , it makes the WSCC the greatest club in the world. Here’s a few pics from our travels ……. Compulsory McDonald’s muffin to start the day then we met @ianaliand @Andy Westwood at Ashbourne to follow last years Long way North tour up to the A65 and then head into the lakes but Andy’s car was having other ideas !!!!!! he decide to quit and make a run for home to swap to the SLK and meet us later , we carried on getting lost a couple of times and finding road closures 🙄 but still found some nice roads but then the rain turned up after a couple of diversions and re routes ( this was one of them) we decided to quit the nice roads and make a run for the hotel via the M6, the view from Ian and Ali’s car Well we got there and parked up with the others and started to dry out, Mr Westwood’s SLK was sat all alone but he did look rather dry sat in the pub 🤔 Look some blue sky 😎 some lovely roads and scenery from the day A lake somewhere (we know why there’s so many 🤣) quiet roads top of a mountain somewhere ( @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative will tell me which one 😜) we stopped for a drink and I parked in the charging bay so I thought I’d give it ago , Westfield do electric cars … but mine isn’t back to chasing the sunshine and a big shout out to the crazy gang who we’ve met through the mighty WSCC next year can we go away from GREEN we need a nice bright colour like ORANGE 🤪 Thanks again @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator and @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and the others for making this tour happen, love to you all Andy & Becky

  31. Hi everyone. Some of you have already interacted with me and kindly shared loads of advice to my questions. For the rest of you, ive had my Westy for 2 weeks now and due to this great forum, ive probably learned more in that time than any knowledge ive gained over my lifetime. Id wanted a seven style car for many years and finally found one that I felt had my name on it. All of you can probably relate to the sheer joy i feel when driving her. Its like being on a track everytime im driving. Ive also become obsessive at trolling through these forums reading up on anything i can learn. What a great group of people you are and my sincerest gratitude to all that have and will help me so far.

  40. As some of you know, my little green car had its MOT June 6th. Well she passed, and we are going out today for some more familiarisation with driving her. We are planning on going to the Coleshill Auto Breakfast Meet Big Day Out on the 29th as that was the last event my dad drove her to before he passed. If anyone is in the Midlands area and fancies joining me, the more the merrier. https://www.coleshillautobreakfastmeet.org/event-details-registration/big-day-out-all-day-event

  41. Sunday 15th of June This was going to be a driving day, where we would get to our next stay almost directly, and then did the last 20 miles or so the very long way around. It turned out a 9 hour exercise, including lunch, and many petrol stops for yours truly. When we finally arrived at the 2nd stay in Saint-Georges-de-Commiers, the pool was a welcoming sight
