No photos, but is there any better feeling than getting the Westfield out on a warm, sunny day, wringing its neck on empty country roads and making a glorious noise, then stopping at a beautiful country pub for a breather and your favourite pint? 😎 No details, but after a very challenging 12 months healthwise at home and £40k spent on unexpected necessities since July, I really needed that bit of joy, release from reality and reaffirmation. Personal batteries recharged.14 points

Thrills, heritage, and innovation meet on track. We @Hedley Bennett (HB46443) - Club Chairman , @Rob Hunter - Club Secretary & the brand-new Westfield Se.NA R-T at Bicester Heritage for its first public test session, An exclusive opportunity to experience the next chapter of Westfield performance. Back-to-back drives with the legendary SeiW Zetec reminded us just how far we’ve come, while a sneak peek at the upcoming Westfield XV showcased where we’re headed. From the XI that started it all in 1982 to the cutting-edge Se.NA, the spirit of Westfield engineering lives on, faster, sharper, and more refined than ever. I didn't take to many images myself, the occasion was like being in a sweet shop! Big thanks to @Westfield Chesil Limited. Look out for the Magazine articles from the press.13 points

I know this has probably been chewed over a number of times im still going to throw it out there.I had just put the megablade clutch back in and decided to take it for a little shake down I only have an aeroscreen so always wear a crash helmet thank God I do minding my own business traveling at about 50 mph a car passed me bang a large stone hit me straight between the 👀 eyes I was surprised at the force of the impact jolting my head back slightly and I thought instantly if I hadn't been wearing a helmet that would have been at least an eye gone at worst a knock out if I had been going considerably faster within national speed limits of course like all Westfield drivers it could have been a different outcome the visor held up really well with just a scuff I think it must have flexed and absorbed some of the impact a peak cap the wrong way round with shades might look cool but it definitely won't stop much get your helmet on be safe and have fun.11 points

Meeting somewhere North of Nuneaton were 5 Westfield's. The sunshine totally ruined my photo so Iam hoping someone else has a better one. Cupola Cafe car park Cold, clear air combined with sunshine on the back country lanes made for an excellent run out. I might have forgotten a turn and ended up on a different route but no-one noticed and it worked out better than planned. That landed us at Chatsworth Garden Centre for lunch, where Chris and Mo were waiting for us. Chris gave us the upsetting news that his back is no longer conducive to driving the Westfield and it is now up for sale. Look out for it coming up in the For Sale section, it's a well maintained one with lots of history of it's reliability documented on here, as it has been used in the Peak District for the last decade. Here we are in Chatsworth, thankfully Ian had sorted his hair out before we let him loose in front of the lens This one is called Andy, that means he is capable of eating lots, it seems to be a thing in the Peak District. A full English, followed by fish and chips eh Meaning we then needed dessert and with that sun still putting it out we were not in a rush to go home Look at 'em, like vultures they are A hilarious day out in a wonderful part of the world. It was our first cold one and it really makes me look forward to the next season, snuggling down into the Westfield all wrapped up, electric clothing on, no caravans/tourists, less cyclists and searching out the real fires in the pub, bring on winter. See you all next time and thanks for coming everyone, hope you've enjoyed it too XXXX11 points

We've been busy on the bodywork this summer. We have already repainted the nose, bonnet and scuttle, so only the tub was left. Removed all the old paint, repaired holes and cracks and have now finished primer. The primer here is after about 4 rattle cans and it took 12 plus 2 high build in the end. Very happy with the results. Colour is going on, when we have the next dry weekend. And yes, the same colour as before, Ferrari Old English White.10 points

For ages I have been looking for a way of storing tools, tyreweld, compressor, scissor jack, spare throttle cables, etc. in the FW boot so the collection of seemingly random items I carry don't slosh around.... I also wanted the ability to easily take things out when I'm at trackdays. After a few pointless purchases that didn't do the job, I stumbled across some cheap bags when buying some DIY stuff from my local Toolstation. Thankfully in real life they are actually black rather then green! The 450mm slots in nicely (if you don't have it too full) in the smaller lower portion of the boot, and the 750mm sits above it below the lid. You could probably use two 750's if you felt really flush and wanted to spend the extra two hundred pence. The 750mm even accommodated the large PX600 airbox I used for trackday noise reduction. They aren't the last word in quality, but its a "first world problem" solved for just 12 quid! My Scottish genes are very satisfied 😂9 points

There’s a number of really good points raised above, but the common thread has to be the engagement & collaboration of WSCL & WSCC for the greater good of each entity - I for one couldn’t justify or desire buying a new one, but I’m really impressed that someone (well the WSCL team) have invested their money, time & commitment to continue the Westfield story. I genuinely believe it can only support WSCC & everyone on here, let alone help to keep/grow the value in our cars on the 2nd hand market - not that I’m selling mine EVER as I hope my grandson can inherit it! In today’s marketplace for a ultra-low volume car-maker, WSCL need both a “cost effective component supply base” and “volume sales”, & those sales cannot just come from the UK alone, WSCL’s existence will surely require numbers to be sold overseas & I’m praying they come along very soon (although the thought of a future home build kit form - maybe a “hybrid“ instead of purely component form, to have option like when SEights were only sold as a “rolling chassis”) would interest a whole new level of buyers rather than £49K outlay. To me, WSCL have brought Se-NA to the market & as far as I’m concerned if it looks like a Westfield, sounds like a Westfield & drives like a new Westfield, then it’s a Westfield - cus there aren’t many/any Standard Westy’s out there! I’ve got everything crossed that Se-NA will be a massive success, WSCL deserve that & look forward to seeing the car in the flesh in the near future. 👏 Well done to Nigel & all the team in Bicester, and here’s to a much brighter new future 🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝8 points

Today we have been to the new Hucknall Flight Test Museum, Nottingham and I thought that if I can spark a bit of interest, then more people will visit it to further it's success. If there is enough interest I would be willing to set up a group visit for our club. Glen and I were on a group visit today from the Great British Car Journey club that we are also members of. After tea, coffee and biscuits (good start) we watched an 8 minute video which gave us an insight into the history of the site and its operations. HUFTM You walk out to the displays in the hangars, which are now listed buildings, and a guide talks you through a timeline along the way. Kestrel engine supercharger c1934. Compressed air systems were tested to replace them. If you like model aeroplanes there is a hangar with an impressive display from one person's collection, this included a Lancaster Bomber model with a propellor on the nose cone. Next we went upstairs where the engine testing was done, the guide was the retired employee that actually did the testing. This is a bit like an old fashioned rolling road I suppose. There is a video of one of the tests that costs £4 million, a blade is detonated during use to simulate a large bird strike proving that it can be contained within the cowling, this is not done often! This model shows why so many Spitfire pilots died, engine - fuel tanks - pilot in a line, not a good combination. The guide proudly informed us that this is like his Merlin, the MK 3. He's bringing it to the car museum soon to show us, we'll be available that day I can assure you. This Merlin engine was out of a Lancaster Bomber Giving 500 hp more is the Griffon engine We soon progressed to the jet engines Reverse Thrust was very first developed at Hucknall. 2 identical planes, one with and one without, the one without took 4 times the distance to stop, still used today. Air coming out the rear is closed off and forced in the opposite direction. Up to date, this is what RR produce today, with all data fed back to Derby. Small fuel, less noise and large blades. This photo is everywhere and is even used in their emblem. The first manned test was performed by the man that developed it, he was retired and had terminal cancer, so if it went wrong, well, you get the picture. There are a few interesting stories that involve fatalities and a memorial is included within the museum. Curled for a reason, I am sure We think we can talk about our car, these people here are bursting with enthusiasm and full of knowledge, they really bring the place alive. Free entry, donations accepted. Hope you've enjoyed this little snippet.8 points

Just in case there are any doubters out there- I am still alive, I still have the car, it's still fantastic fun and it still makes me grin stupidly. Even better, my youngest (6) thinks it is better than Alton Towers. "How quickly does the red stick (odo needle) get to 60?" Was today's question. The answer was lost in cackling and shouts of 'make it go faster'!7 points

Interesting tale from Caterham and their challenges finding a new engine supplier. Perhaps will help some understand what WCL have been through to get to an Engine supplier. Caterham and the Horse Engine7 points

Hello everybody, just aquired a 2018 factory built AeroRace with Zetec Power. Intend to run it purely for Track Days for my son. Also run a Mx5 Zsport. Pembrey and Llandow are our local circuits, with hopefully excursions further afield as well. Looking forward to benefitting from the knowledge that abounds here and joining in where I can.6 points

A little bit of miscommunication meant that we didn't meet up with Tim for the drive up to GBS, but we met there instead. Both Tim Lawton and Andrew Clarke had to leave early due to other commitments, so that left us and my friend Mark to head to the cafe for lunch. After an excellent lunch, Mark made his own way home in his BMW, whilst we headed out to the 'On Freedom's Wings', Lancaster memorial just off the A46. We took some pics from the viewing point in the nearby road. It looked fantastic in the sunshine!6 points
