Made a run down to the Ace Cafe this evening for a classic car, Midget, Sprite and Lotus evening. I got sandwiched between a Caterham and a 'donor' car (MG Midget), but I think I got away with it ..😅. It was dark when we left, so the first time driving in the dark, and around the A406 North Circular road to add to the excitement.15 points

Say hey, good lookin' - what ya got cookin'? Well it might be a Westfield and not a hot rod FORD but it sounds good. (Younger generation please google Hank Williams).Vicki @Steve Bosworth. We met at Quacker's cafe, it was freeeeezing and a bit cloudy but we were all glad to be out on a dry forecast. Car park. Jake, our photographer for the day, was taking some snazzy shots too. Inside Quacker's Cafe, nice and warm despite me suggesting we sit outside and Glen suggesting we didn't 😆 It's not the first time today we were all thanking Glen. Next we went on the run out, a route devised by Glen and what a cracker it was, thank you for the second time today, Glen 😍. A slight delay to the set off as Glynn had to change his shoes (not the stilleto's, that's this evening's club😮). Paul and Margaret were coming on the run and then disappearing early to get ready for a few months in Europe in the van, see you in June! We were booked in for lunch at The Bike and Boot, Hope Valley. A new build hotel for activity breaks and very welcoming to car clubs. Bike and Boot car park The menu is amazing, Glen had paella, not our usual kind of food Inside Bike and Boot We needed dessert after that so off we went to The Pavillion at Baslow and were greeted by the usual selection of sicklyness We sat outside and enjoyed our cakes in the warm sunshine We sit overlooking our beautiful cars. A man with a massive camera came over and asked if we raced them, we replied, 'No officer' 😁 The Pavillion Cafe overlooking the sports field and car park A brilliant day out, a good laugh, surprisingly quiet roads and establishments. Thanks for keeping the convoy together with all your excellent driving, it makes my life easier. Thank you to Glynn for guarding the rear of the convoy, also giving me peace of mind that everyone is looked after. See you all next time.14 points

I was at Piper Cams and Exhausts today collecting something non-Westfield related but absolutely stunning!! These items jumped into my car and mugged my credit card on the way... Fast road cams, vernier pulleys and followers for a Silvertop Zetec... should let a few more ponies out... Just have to work out how you fit and time them in now...10 points

We all met at Quacker's cafe and because the sun was out it was warm enough to sit outside. Parked at Quacker's We went on a drive through the Peak District on remarkably quiet roads, up high, with great views in the cool, clear air. The sunshine accentuating the scenery, it was glorious and I must thank all you great drivers for keeping the convoy together all the while. Parked at the Traveller's Rest, Bradwell Lunch inside at The Traveller's Rest, it was freezing by now as the clouds rolled in Jake, missing from the previous pic More food required so we went down to The Pavillion, Baslow Parked at The Pavillion Cake arrived Inside The Pavillion, far too cold to sit outside Another fantastic day out in our great little cars and another quiet Bank Holiday in the Peak District, can't believe our luck. Thank you to everyone for joining us today and see you all soon x9 points

Good meet at Haynes Breakfast Club this morning. We met at Podimore before driving in for 8am. A total of twelve WSCC cars there from Dorset, Devon, Somerset and the chaps down from Surrey area too. Plenty of exotica in the paddock and main car park areas. Was quite warm when the sun shone, and the bacon rolls were good! Big shout out to @markat for making the 1 hr 40 min trek from Okehampton in somewhat chilly conditions, especially with aeroscreen!8 points

Winter/spring engine rebuild...... Core plugs and oil bungs removed and acid dipped. Block bored to 87mm Block face skimmed. Head washed and skimmed. Late crank replaced with a spare early crank I had kicking about. Wossner steel rods and Omega intruder pistons fitted. ACL race bearings. New oil pump with uprated internal gear. QED 450V cams, race springs and steel caps fitted along with solid lifters. Vernier pulleys. Other things that I can't quite remember no doubt!!! All up and running with no coolant or oil leaks. But do want to recheck the shims for the lifters. All machine work done by Grace Engine Developments which luckily are 5 mins drive away!8 points

Looks like I’ve finished it !!! (well, still need to work on the corner weight, but I've set the rest of the geometry), but I’m almost afraid to say it (finished) ... because whenever I do, something turns out to need reworking and time flies. It has flown by so fast that I feel older and less eager for a machine that is definitely more extreme than the Westfields I used to drive. And now I don’t know if I’ll be able to ride it; it really seems fast (Honda CBR 1000RR, 192 horsepower, 129 Nm). After short run around home today, to bring temperatures to working area, check brakes etc.. brrrr it was sometimes scarry and loud, very loud (it has smal motocycle silencer )8 points

Here for sale is my beloved V8. I bought this off the son of the owner of JE Developments (Rover V8 specialist John Eales). As you can imagine with the power to weight ratio, it's an absolute beast. I bought the car being around 60% done and since then I've invested another £8,000 in work to get it to a 100% complete and finished and fully working Seight with of course no expense spared. I only ever used Valvoline VR1 Racing 20w-50 which is meant to be the highest rated oil for Rover V8s. I currently have 4x 5L tubs on me which are included in the sale which alone is worth £160. The beast was a little on the hot side so I took it to Mulfab, the completely redesigned the front end, they managed to get the rad closer to the engine, which means it could be much taller and wider, fitted a performance 48mm thick rad, fitted a high flow Davies Craig 14" High Power fan and had it relocated to the rear of the rad where it should be so the front gets clean air. Removed the oil cooler and replaced it with a oil/coolant heat exchanger. A Davies Craig Electronic Water Pump was also fitted. The Davies Craig Electronic Water Pump has the new revised digital control module which is the little TV screen in the cab. After throwing £2,500 at the cooling system, it now runs at 80-85 degrees and always runs 5- 10 degrees below target temp that's set on the controller, which essentially means the car runs without the need of the fan or the waterpump spinning at full speed. I've even had the target temp bumped upto 95 degrees to help it get warm and it would run at 85. In 35 degrees it would run at target temp and not go over, so if target set to 85 it would run at 85. So the cooling system is more than efficient with headroom to spare. I've also treated any surface rust in the rear boot bay area and front suspension area. The ultimate star of the show is the engine from JE Developments, it produces around 330 BHP and goes as well as it sounds (especially after it's been camed. It's also colour matched to the car! I also fitted a LSD to improve handling and stop 1 wheel burnouts when casually moving off from gravel. Also has loads of carbon fibre, such as: Carbon wing mirror Carbon cycle wings Carbon rear numberplate surround Carbon tail light surrounds Carbon door sills Carbon foot sills List of extra loose parts included in the sale which also total high value include: Brand new sealed 2x Chrome exhaust covers (dotted holes) Brand new sealed SoftBits half hood Brand new sealed Westfield Gear knob Door Side screens Door Wind Deflectors SoftBits Tunnel Bag (touring version) Screen channel Cycle wings in BMW Le Mans blue Rear wheel/tyre holder 4 tubs of Valvoline VR1 Racing oil Rear carbon number plate Rear open differential Racetech oil pressure gauge Mocal oil cooler 4x shocks Front brake calipers Fuel pressure regulator BMW paint touch up kit Filler cap Roll bar 5x Team Dynamics wheels in BMW Carbon Black Front lower and upper wishbones Leather style arm rests SPAL high power fan Various light fittings Many of these parts aren't even available anymore. This list doesn't include parts I've fitted to the car, just the extras loose parts included. Below is an extract from the original advertisement which contains further key information "Here is my 1998 Seight which has been completely upgraded since I bought it in 2015. I’ve always loved V8s (my Dad was Factory Manager at JE Engineering) and seeing the development Seight at the JE workshop meant when I decided to buy a Westfield it had to have a sorted John Eales V8 heart. So I’ll start with the JE Developement engine in this car - it is a 4420cc V8 on 48mm down draught Dellorto carburettors, a 234 cam with Vernier timing gear and high rev lifters. The Compression ratio is 10.1 : 1, 44mm inlet valves 38mm exhaust. It produced 320bhp / 296ft on JE Development dyno as a fresh build, its loosened since (done 2k miles) - in short it’s delivers epic performance with all the drama and sound you would expect. It has recently been given a new AP racing green clutch plate, cover and new release bearing fitted <100 miles ago. I upgraded the front brakes to Hi Spec 4 pot callipers, vented discs & hoses / Mintex pads so it has extra stopping power too. Fred Davis of Tracksport built me some fully rose jointed wide track wishbones, in his view they were better then the Westfield items I’d asked him to fit when he set up the suspension - new springs, dampers & bushes all round. It’s had new RaceTech gauges - engine temp, oil pressure, fuel sender, tacho & speedo. Had a starter button and battery cut off fitted with the electrical work done by JE’s son in law who is at Merc F1. I had the car fully resprayed in BMW Le mans blue and bought new Image Wheels “RM2” with Graphite centres, polished & ceramic outer chrome bolts with R888 - Front 7.5 x 16, Rear 8 x 16 Fitted new Interior - side panels, mats, tunnel and back panels and added more comfortable seats. New - Dominator headlamps with LED bulbs, LED indicators, LED brake units, fog and reverse lights. Varley Red top 30 battery, headlight brackets, carbon fibre mirror covers, alloy Windscreen, carbon effect cycle wings & new brackets, chrome roll bar. Overall I’ve upgraded this car without thinking about the cost of anything as I wanted it to look as good as it goes, there is a full folder of paperwork detailing what has gone into it over the last 6 years. (this folder has been carefully hidden away from the missus to disguise my upgraditus habit) I’ve only ever used this car in dry weather, it could easily become a devastating track weapon with the competition spec engine or remain the epic sunny day blast. Car will keep the descriptive reg plate a 4 litre v8 (A4 LVB). To confirm this is a proper Seight chassis so therefore has the reinforced fillet bracing. These have been checked, especially around the rear diff given the high power and torque of the set up - happy to report all is good and chassis is sound. This car is as solid underneath as it shiny on top. The spare wheels are painted in BMW Carbon Black, they are Team Dynamics Qualifyers - 7.5 x 16. The PCD 4 x 108 and have offset ET37 205/45/16 tyres on front 225/45/16 on rear" The previous owner kept a very detailed log of all work carried out, receipts and invoices, drawings, diagrams and dyno charts dating all the way back to the 90s. It's a huge folder which will take time to go through and there is also an excel spreadsheet detailing all the parts he bought that totals to over £45,000. For example just the wheels where just under £2,000. Adding the £8,000 I've spent takes it over £50k In terms of what I've done in my ownership, I have carried out the following work: The Seight owes me around £27k, but I'm willing to list it for £21,995 with all the extra loose parts included. Will sell for £19,995 without the extra parts Please see all the pictures attached8 points

I didn’t really know how many were going to turn up when this was arranged as there were other events going on this weekend. To arrive at the starting point to see 9 cars was indeed uplifting. 7 Westfields, a Tiger and a MEV. Special mention has to go to @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO who surprised us all by turning up in his fully rebuilt Westfield - first trip out since getting it back on the road. Brilliant. We left in convoy and drove an interesting route to The Ramblers in Edale via the beautiful Winnates Pass. At one point we literally had to wait for the pot hole crew to fix the road in front of us which gave the ‘locals’ the opportunity to leave the convoy to get to the pub first. At The Ramblers, we were joined by Chris Emms and Mo. After a hearty dinner the remaining 5 intrepid explorers carried on to Baslow Cricket Club Cafe for cake before all going our separate ways. Fantastic day out. Weather was exceptional for time of year and a great bunch of people. For me, living soooo far away, it was nearly 6hrs of driving leaving home at 8am. Covered well over 200 miles. Home at 6pm knackered but happy. Till next time…. Credits for photos to @Jakejmagee who accepted my request to be the day’s official photographer. Well done. 😁7 points
