  1. Maybe some of you have heard the latest news – Le Mans 2025 was won by Polish driver Robert Kubica! His main sponsor is ORLEN. While I was testing my recently finished (and finally working!) MNR, it seems some folks from ORLEN were watching my driving — and they sent me a whole cistern of their fuel. Nice!

  2. A nice photo from the London to Brighton run. The photographer was lying down on the grass verge by the side of the road all day!

  3. A great big thank you to Marcus Barlow, our Events manager for giving us this tour, here it is from our seat. Thank you for the hats in the best colour! We travelled up the M6 with @AndrewBClarke, @neptune and @Stuart, making our way to the Lakeland Motor Museum for lunch by the river whilst watching the steam train, fantastic start. Lakeland Motor Museum It's cafe by the river, overlooking the cars and steam trains Next we drove along the shores of Lake Windermere to ride on the ferry and experience the Lakes close up After the torrential downpour we were glad to park our cars in the heated underground car park at Travelodge Kendal, what a luxury. I am hoping others will post their experience on here and will include a photo of approx 20 Westfield's tucked up for the night. We went into Kendal town to eat with the 3 Andy's and others The puddings flowed and the frivolities started Next morning we all gathered for the Tour Talk from Marcus Then it was time to set off, excited!! Thanks @Glynn Walters for the photo At The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale It is in a lovely situation Next stop for us was the Honister Slate Mine cafe, here is the Honister Pass And here is us parked up Glenridding, a little mountain village next Time for ice creams Then we went a walk, follow me, puff it's uphill all the way to the top! To Lanty's Tarn For views over Ullswater Glenridding The second day was the Dales tour, over Buttertubs Pass and to the beautiful Simonstone Hall with it's amazing views, stopping for drinks The walk at Malham was cancelled due to rain so we went to Ribblehead Viaduct and sat it out in the Station Inn Our journey home with Andrew was to get down the M6 and pick up the Peak District, getting to the Cupola cafe before separating A fantastic trip, even if I didn't quite have a clue which National Park I was in each day, does it matter? they are all beautiful. Thanks to everyone for making it the awesome trip that it was, now let's have a little pray that Marcus treats us to the same next year XXXXXXXXXXXX

  7. Hi all, new member and owner here! After much deliberating and procrastination, I have finally decided to stop all that nonsense and take the plunge into Westfield ownership... with both feet, at the deep end. Someone had to...! I'm now the proud owner of a very pretty Seight in Westfield Racing Green, which comes with some interesting legacy and may well be known to a few members. The 4.6 rover V8 EFI topped with supercharger runs hot and raucous, despite methanol cooling on boost. Delightfully terrifying. The build is superb and the previous owner had it meticulously prepared after 10 years of ownership and personalisation. A couple of small gremlins sorted already and she's back on the road. I will have one or two small things to change in the near term and I may have to swap out the original sports seats for something more accommodating of my 6'4" frame, but for now it's time to enjoy. More to come.

  8. There isn’t a section for returning users, so thought Startline was probably the best place to put this. For those of you who don’t know/remember me, I’m Mat and was a member here 3-4 years ago - used to have a green 1.8 Zetec before Covid job loss forced me to sell. For those of you I have met up with previously - hello again, can’t wait to see you all. My partner will confirm I’ve been a right miserable and grumpy sod since selling up, and so delighted to report that I’ve finally managed to rectify the situation. Introducing the Jaffa Cake. A 2.0 Duratec SEiW Deal agreed today and will be collected this coming week at some point. I’m based South Lincs, towards Peterborough. Looking forward to one of your run outs to some cake at some point @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and @AndrewBClarke. Will be in touch with you too@Martin Bell - (Bellyboy) East Anglia AO as I think you’re my closest AO? Thanks Mat

  12. Flat battery this morning meant Team Hall did a quick nose cone off and battery swap. I was impressed when we arrived at the museum that they had reserved our favourite parking spaces on the left under the sign, that's thoughtful of them. Coffee, breakfast butties and relax as we all had a catch up in the cafe at the museum There were lots of Lotus but I personally didn't see one single Caterham, what are they trying to say to the organisers? We went on a lovely run out through the sunny countryside, @Tony H made me laugh when he said how he enjoyed it but hadn't got any clue where he had actually been, that's job satisfaction for me Tony👍 This is the bit where we don't mention ALDI 😁 we arrived at Thornbridge Brewery and it was rather more busy than expected, the Father's Day effect I think. We parked up Ordered the beer and pizza. I had the 0.5% alcohol Green Mountain Hazy Session IPA and it was very good indeed, I am changing my opinion of alcohol free beers, they are actually just like beer. A lot of chat over lunch about next Sunday when we set off on our Lakes and Dales Tour, the excitement is building and everyone is sooooooo looking forward to it. If you visit Bakewell anytime, pop in here it's worth a look A bit different and a really good day out, thanks everyone for coming

  13. So from work we get a quarterly "wellness allowance". Meant for home office niceties, gym subscriptions, fitness equipment etc. You get the idea. I managed to sneak these through as "gym trainers", in a fetching shade of Westfield blue to match the car. Just right for the treadmill, or a small pedal box, whichever seems more appropriate! 🤣🫣🤫

  15. Not to be out done by @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset I had my own early start this morning. Up at 2am to catch the sunrise at Glencoe. The Bridge of Orchy and Rannoch Moor were particularly stunning, though I don't think the pictures actually do it justice. Home via Castle Stalker, of Monty Python fame. 6hrs round trip and 270mls.

  16. Nice ride from Kent to the New Forest and back today (the scenic route). Mostly A roads except for the last stretch. Spent a few hours buzzing around the Forrest roads in the sun. The traffic was hardly mooooving at times…. Stopped off for breaky in Brockenhurst and called in at Caffeine and Machine on the way home. 413 miles and a sun tan 👍🏼

  17. Attended Horsepower Hill at Heveningham Hall Country fair last weekend. This wasn’t about an A to B time but the speed you crossed the line. The track was short but fun. I was told there was a bend over a blind crest so lifted on my first run. I didn’t notice a bend so went for it on my next 4 runs. I got faster each run and my fastest was 90mph. The worst bit being a cattle grid 200m past the finish line so the brakes got a good test. There were some nice cars competing and having fun from an F40, FX90, Lamborghini SVJ, R8s, Audi RS, 800bhp Focus. The winner was a 1500bhp Nissan GTR with 119mph. Me and my daughter loved it and will go again next year.

  21. Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Russell Brynolf, retired engineer, and I've always wanted to build a kit car for myself. Last August I finally received my kit from Westfield, yes, here in the USA, delivered in a large crate containing many, many boxes! Not the best of assembly instructions, and several parts missing, but, overcome those issues and I'm proud to say I finished the build yesterday!! Pictures attached. Next is to get it inspected and registered. To achieve this in Michigan the car is required to have bumpers front and rear at 14-22" from the ground. They will look a little stupid but that the only way to complete the inspection. Engine still runs a little lumpy, but otherwise drives great. let me know any comments or suggestions. Ta.

  29. I really fancied a drive out yesterday, and eventually broached the idea of an early morning run with Mrs Stu, with a promise of being back by 9am when the rest of the house would just about be up and about. This received grudging approval, so the alarm went off at 6am, and by the time I had sorted myself and the dog, I headed off at around 6.35. Rough plan had been a 2.5 hour round trip in order to be home on time. I started up and headed off gently without warming the car so as to avoid disturbing the neighbours too much! First leg was down to West Bay, with the obligatory blat through Beaminster tunnel at full chat, then a fuel stop at the Esso in Bridport for some Supreme 99 and a cruise around the harbour. Without a stop, I headed along the coast road towards Abbotsbury, with its spectacular sea views, stopping at the lay-by overlooking Chesil Beach and Portland. Not sure why I look grumpy in the selfie, probably just too early and needing to concentrate to manage to take it properly 🤪! It was a bit damp out, with occasional light drizzle but the R888Rs still seemed to cope very well, plenty of grip though I was taking it fairly easy. From there it was along behind Chesil Beach and onto the Isle of Portland, winding my way uphill through town then down all the way to Portland Bill for a quick stop and leg stretch to take in the views and walk around the lighthouse and touch the obelisk (as it were 😉) Heading North now, it was fairly slow and fiddly up to Dorchester, but then I really enjoyed the stretch to Sherborne via the A352 which is a great drive, one of the best legs on the trip, fast open road with no traffic, perfect Westfield territory. Finally back through Yeovil which is a bit of a grind, but then some nice open sections home. I was back by about 9.15am, in time for breakfast and the rest of the house were just up and about. 87 miles in all, great way to start the day.

  31. WOW what a great trip !!!!! Many thanks to all the guys and gals that make these trips an unbelievable experience , it makes the WSCC the greatest club in the world. Here’s a few pics from our travels ……. Compulsory McDonald’s muffin to start the day then we met @ianaliand @Andy Westwood at Ashbourne to follow last years Long way North tour up to the A65 and then head into the lakes but Andy’s car was having other ideas !!!!!! he decide to quit and make a run for home to swap to the SLK and meet us later , we carried on getting lost a couple of times and finding road closures 🙄 but still found some nice roads but then the rain turned up after a couple of diversions and re routes ( this was one of them) we decided to quit the nice roads and make a run for the hotel via the M6, the view from Ian and Ali’s car Well we got there and parked up with the others and started to dry out, Mr Westwood’s SLK was sat all alone but he did look rather dry sat in the pub 🤔 Look some blue sky 😎 some lovely roads and scenery from the day A lake somewhere (we know why there’s so many 🤣) quiet roads top of a mountain somewhere ( @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative will tell me which one 😜) we stopped for a drink and I parked in the charging bay so I thought I’d give it ago , Westfield do electric cars … but mine isn’t back to chasing the sunshine and a big shout out to the crazy gang who we’ve met through the mighty WSCC next year can we go away from GREEN we need a nice bright colour like ORANGE 🤪 Thanks again @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator and @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and the others for making this tour happen, love to you all Andy & Becky

  35. @LoneWolf visits the UK (Macclesfield) for work periodically and has attended more Cheshire Area Xmas curries than some local members! He was keen to obtain the WSCC Torch given to members who attended the 2025 Malvern show. As we were visiting Italy this summer on our Peaky Schnitzel Pizza Processing Tour, I offered to collect one from @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator and deliver to Italy for him. He was planning to take the train up the Dolomites and ride with us for a day. However this didn't happen. He arrived in the UK for a week on Saturday, so I through together an Impromptu Peaky Blat and invited a few local members along to join us. This is as much as I planned and would make up the rest depending on traffic/weather etc. The Peaky game of 'hide and seek' started just before 9am for me. @andyjs and his friend Scott with a 1.6L Sigma powered Caterham got into the Peaks before me and I'd got to collect @LoneWolf from his Hotel first. We drove towards the Cat & Fiddle from Bosley Crossroads and had a good run up. We found Andy and Scott somewhere between Pott Shrigley and Kettleshulme and had a few rounds of all cars turning round and repeatedly passing each other before all 3 cars we pointing in the same direction. After a quick stop and chat, we decided Scott could lead and he took us on a fabulous run round the Peaks. Some new to me roads and some very familiar but amazingly very light traffic considering the great weather. The cars needed a drink in Buxton. Scott uses the same approach as me to Winnat's pass- Crawl at circa 10 miles and hour on the approach and then hopefully have a clear run up. We did! Not so good when we discover Scott's battery is dead (known issue) and he's having to use a USB power bank to jump start it. His idle speed has recently been adjusted leading to it cutting out (any advice @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman I recall you having a similar issue for a while?) All the cars we'd left behind at the start of Winnat's, now sailed past as Scott jumped his car back into life. and again neat to Quackers! We stopped for a drink and some lunch at the Grouse and Claret in Rowsley A 'light' snack for Alessandro @LoneWolf Scott and Andy had to leave at this point. So I treated Alessandro to a trip through Asbo Tunnel on our way back to Macclesfield. 160 great miles covered on a bone dry day!
