Hi all, recently pulled the trigger on my first Westfield after realising what I’d been missing out on all these years! I had never previously considered a 7 type car as I’m 6ft4 and never thought I’d fit in one. A conversation with my mate Lee (soon to be on his 3rd westy) got me thinking and pointed me towards Toybox cars which happens to be just up the road from me. What a place that is! Andrew soon had me sitting in various cars and I was pleasantly surprised. In hindsight it should’ve been blatantly obvious, they’re kit cars, they can literally be made to fit. Next thing I know I’m in the passenger seat blatting along the country lanes around Ashby , taking corners at crazy speeds and almost immediately the decision had been made (see the pic below) Hoping there’s some WSCC meets in my local area (Leics/derby/notts), be good to meet up with a few of you guys, get some pointers and check out your rides12 points

This weekend 4 friends and I went Manchester -> Darlington -> Drymen -> Kinlochleven -> Girvan -> Manchester, departing Thursday night and returning Sunday night. Just over 1000 miles all in. Absolutely brilliant trip. I may do a mini write up covering some of the unbelievable roads we traversed. Mixed group of cars that covered 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinders. I am astonished how good Rainsport 5s are. Couple of issues on the car but otherwise very good times. North shore road of Loch Leven Moniaive12 points

Well done to the team A big congratulations to @Andy Malone - Editor and the entire team behind the magazine. The effort, attention to detail, and continued evolution of the publication really shows. Also, a thank you to everyone who contributed – whether through articles, photos, or event coverage. It’s those contributions that keep Westfield World fresh, relevant, and genuinely enjoyable to read. Hedley.10 points

We’ve been staying in Bakewell for the last week with a relative, and today had a walk along the Monsal trail from Monsal Head to Hassop Station Cafe where we had lunch. Along the way, I spotted a sign to the famous Quackers cafe, a regular haunt for the Peak District gang. We didn’t stop there, although I checked for any Westies in the car park as we went by. The views were very nice from the viaduct, the tunnel was fun and the weather kind. We saw three rather chunky looking buggies which I quite fancied a go in, and a Jag with excellent number plate in town. Maybe one day I will trailer the car up here and enjoy some of the wonderful roads myself. Almost forgot to mention, having been a committed Bakewell Tart man for years, we discovered the more authentic Bakewell Pudding this trip. It is dangerously delicious I can tell you!!7 points

What an amazing day! Thank you @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for organising. Really enjoyed seeing you all and the Vulcan too. The Vulcan volunteers were Incredibly informative. Could have chatted to the ex-Vulcan pilot all day. I can’t believe the small size of the cockpit. Those instruments looked incredibly simple for the job the Vulcan had to perform. Outstanding day, very informative, very hands on, with lots of friendly knowledgeable volunteers. Well organised and terrific value for money, would thoroughly recommend to anyone. The chance to go into the cockpit and chat with a veteran Vulcan pilot was a huge bonus. Thank you to @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for organising and the club for subsidising it for the members. A memorable day out, looking forward to see the many photos posted!6 points

Twas not a complaint, merely an observation that when I joined this ‘cult’ I was under the impression that it was a car club, not a hiking club.5 points

Pair of external rear view mirrors with mountings. Were on the windscreen pillars of my SEi using existing centre screws. Not to be confused with Rover 100 mirrors, defo not the same thing! I’ve added convex blind spot mirrors to them and they provided good visibility on both sides, but as they are only stuck on with adhesive tape, they can be removed fairly easily if you prefer. They are quite secure and don’t shake about while driving. £25.00 for the pair in a box with bubble wrap and rather poor penmanship address labelling. POSTAGE NOT INCLUDED. I will advise and provide options and costs, and you can choose which one to use. Alternatively, you can arrange your own collection by courier; collect it from me in deepest, darkest Warwickshire; meet me at a Warwickshire area meet or Stoneleigh or Malvern (weather permitting); or you can send your tame carrier gannet to fly them to you (other options are available but unlikely). PM me if interested. CAUTION: Kindly do not try to pull my plonker with a cheeky bid like, “I’ll take them if you throw in free P & P”, or a lower bid. I’m a grumpy old man with forum admin powers and a well-earned reputation for boardroom mischief and shenanigans, as many in here will attest to their cost when they attempted to wind me up in the past. What’s more, I like doing it. The price is fixed. If no one buys them, I may well fit them to one of my dogs. Not that it will help them, but it will amuse me for a short period. Thanks for reading this far. I can’t imagine you have any questions pertaining to the mirrors, but you might. I’m going back to my red wine now.4 points

Final details for this trip on Saturday 18th April. PAYMENT The WSCC has agreed to part fund this visit for members and their immediate family, therefore the cost will be £10 per person, payable on the day. I have had confirmation that payments can be made by card or cash. TIMINGS We are required to be there at 1.15pm, for the 1.30pm visit start. It is expected to last for approximately 2.5 hours, with the group photo towards the end of the visit. LUNCH It is my intention to arrive sometime around 11.15 to 11.30am in order to grab an early lunch/late breakfast prior to the visit. You are free to arrive just in time for the visit or join us at the Touchdown Cafe. However, the cafe can be very busy, so there may be delays for food and the cafe parking may be difficult, as it is not very big and is usually full of cars and motorcycles. PARKING The location of the Vulcan is at South Warwickshire Flying School, Loxley Lane, Wellesbourne, Mountford Aerodrome, Warwick CV35 9EU. On arrival, turn right to park on the grass area as shown below. There is plenty of parking there and we are allowed to park there in the morning whilst we walk down to the cafe, also shown below. Hopefully I've covered all the things you need to know, but if you have any questions, please message me. Look forward to seeing you all there.4 points

Warm Welcome @Leo H Plenty of folks local to you. The Derby/Notts area meet at the Clock in Shardlow the first Thursday of the month. Great mix of people and cars. Be nice to see you there soon. https://www.clockwarehousepub.co.uk/?utm_source=gbp&utm_medium=Yext&y_source=1_OTMyODgwNC03MTUtbG9jYXRpb24ud2Vic2l0ZQ%3D%3D Upstairs! You also have the Peak District area too. Recommend joining them. Great driving roads. They have an event this weekend too if you’re available. If you fancy slightly further the Warwickshire area is very active too! Next event for them is a Sprint Trackday. ATB HB.3 points

I didn't want to post before the Warwickshire Trip had taken place, so as not to confuse matters! A few members that couldn't make it to the Wellesbourne museum asked if there was any chance of visiting the Woodford Vulcan, instead, so here we are!! As ever, numbers are limited and I need to confirm with them as soon as possible. So please let me know if you'd like to come. They open at 10am, which is when I suggest we meet. Our slot is from 10.30am. "The Avro Heritage Museum warmly welcomes visiting car clubs during the summer season. As part of the visit, car club members get the opportunity to take a group photograph of the vehicles alongside our Vulcan bomber, the only white example of its type in the world. Car club members are charged standard admission prices (£9) plus an additional £3 per vehicle for the Vulcan photoshoot experience. Cockpit tours can also be booked on the day (subject to availability). There is a cafe on site, too, plus experienced museum "floor-walkers" to answer questions etc. How to get there.3 points

Dear WSCC Member, We’re very proud that the WSCC Stand has been the biggest and best at the Malvern show (and formerly Stoneleigh) for many years. However, this is heavily reliant on the kind and generous volunteers who give up some time to provide the great service on the stand. Here’s some of the roles you may be asked to help with- Support Parking so all the cars are neatly parked Support Members area so visiting members have somewhere safe and secure to store Helmets and personal effects without having to carry them around the show Support the Auto Jumble Support members refreshment stand. Support club merchandise area Meet and greet visitors We’re only looking for a few hours of your time each day. Don't worry, if you've not volunteered before. we will ensure all new volunteers will be buddied up with an experienced member for all roles. To volunteer please click here for further information- How to volunteer If you’ve got any questions you’d like to ask before signing up, please write to showteam@wscc.co.uk We would like to put on a very special display of Westfield Cars through the 40 years inside the marquee and are looking for cars of significance. If you have a prelit, an XI, an XTR , a speed series competition car, one of the few all carbon FW cars , a Westfield or any other seven style car with a difference that you would like to exhibit, please drop a message with details of your car to showteam@wscc.co.uk Many thanks, Your WSCC Team.3 points
