  1. I have simulated my body weight in the Westfield to set up the alignment after replacing a wishbone And by the way – don’t throw away your old brake discs, they can be really useful!

  3. We've been busy on the bodywork this summer. We have already repainted the nose, bonnet and scuttle, so only the tub was left. Removed all the old paint, repaired holes and cracks and have now finished primer. The primer here is after about 4 rattle cans and it took 12 plus 2 high build in the end. Very happy with the results. Colour is going on, when we have the next dry weekend. And yes, the same colour as before, Ferrari Old English White.

  4. After a number of issues since a fresh engine, gearbox and chassis rebuild. Just finished refitting the engine and gearbox after repairs to both. Also fitted a new propshaft and various other bits and pieces. Just in time for tomorrow's trackday! 🤞😀

  6. @Maurici- CleaR Motorsport I echo @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO’s sentiments, sorry to hear you’re unwell and wish you a speedy recovery. I’ve instructed Stripe to refund your £53.00 club membership fee. The potential explanation of why it happened that follows may be less speedy… We had a similar problem back in 2013 (get off my lawn, kids these days, etc.) where memberships started renewing automatically one evening, which caused @ACW and I a massive 48-hour headache finding those affected, refunding those who had paid twice and shutting this feature off. Fast-forward to 2025 and history appears to be repeating itself, but sporadically. The forum software has moved on considerably and the ability to turn on or off the auto-renew feature backstage from membership packages has disappeared from the visible membership package settings some time ago, so the problem hasn’t reared it’s ugly head again until recently. Each membership package has the option to renew turned on, as you would expect, except Paid 60-Day Membership, as paying £60 per year (£10 every two months) versus £35 per year makes no sense and renewal isn’t available. After a lot of head scratching and low-level confusion, the only reason I can see that this might be happening again is that the club changed its payment portal from PayPal to Stripe at the end of 2024. That payment method has (now “had”) the option for the purchaser to retain their payment card details on their club account, ie. they could tick a “Retain card details” box at point of purchase. I’m making an assumption here that club member accounts with stored payment card details have been automatically renewing memberships on membership packages where renewals are allowed and at the point when 30-day renewal invoices are generated. Again, I can find no auto-renew settings backstage. The reason I’m assuming it’s been sporadic is that a percentage between 1% and 99% of members did not tick the box to store their payment card details, therefore there was no way the renewal payment could be automatically taken for their accounts. I have adjusted the backstage settings in Stripe to turn off the option for members to be able to store their card details against their accounts. I do not know if that will turn off the details of members who have already chosen to save their details or not - hopefully it will and the issue is now resolved. However, I request @WSCC Webmaster to conduct a sanity check on my reasoning please. I hope the reader stayed awake through this explanation, which is as simple but complete as I could make it.

  12. September poem for @marcusb AI Style. “Traded raw thrills for a badge and some gloss, Swapped Westfield joy for Lotus loss. The dark side called, but let’s be frank- It’ll never match that Westfield spank!” Oh Westfield, my thunder, my open-air song, You roared through the bends, where my spirit belonged. Your heartbeat was raw, unrefined, yet so true, A cockpit of joy with a limitless view. We danced through the corners, alive in the breeze, The crackle of throttle, the rush to appease. Each mile was a memory, bright as the flame, Each drive was a story, no two were the same. But now you are gone, sold off with a sigh, Replaced by a Lotus-oh, how could he try? To trade purist passion for something so tame, To cross to the dark side-it just isn’t the same. So here’s to the Westfield, forever my muse, A car for the mad ones, the brave ones who choose. Though others move on, I’ll remember your fire, A legend of freedom, of purest desire. He’ll be back!

  14. Almost two years late, but I've managed to get my 40th birthday present sorted: A flight experience at Goodwood, in their Harvard. I had an amazing time, and got to fly her for maybe 5 mins whilst we were up,followed by a suitable amount of aerobatics. It turns out, if you don't clench hard enough, you really can start to grey out at the bottom of a 4g loop. 😮 Quick in-flight selfie: The view out over the wing, showing Thorney Island: An ever so slightly adrenaline filled me: I may take up wearing flight suits, as they're rather slimming.

  19. Looking to put it back to predominantly road use and the odd track day and sprint/hillclimb maybe. First stage of the lan is to get it onto a rolling road to sort the engine and to maybe replace the existing straight cut four speed gearbox. interior will need seats etc sorted but it’s a great looking project and a car I know the complete history of.

  20. Heading down Countisbury Hill into Lynmouth on a fab day out with the Dorset, Devon & Somerset mob. Thirteen cars and a bike, plus some great weather. Spectacular views coming down the hill, though best not to lose concentration due to the lack of fence and sheer drop! 😱🤣

  21. Sorry for the delay. I can’t see anything in the Admin CP that would trigger auto renewals - turning off save details seems sensible, but it was still enabled in stripe (despite unchecking in the Admin CP) so I have also made that change in the actual Stripe account. Time will tell I guess! As others have said I hope you get well soon @Maurici- CleaR Motorsport

  29. I went out for the first proper drive ever (after 600 miles) by myself. Glorious sunshine and decent roads. Maybe I enjoyed myself too much, as 'Life360' (the app we use to keep track of family members) reckoned I had 35 'risky events' over 47 miles...😬. I ended up at my usual haunt (Elstree Aerodrome) for a cup of coffee. One day I'll find a nice vintage aeroplane for the XI to pose against 😃.

  42. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g2qp8wed0o And I'll pile on to EDF. Not price related but bereavement. Needed to change ALL bills/insurances and household "stuff" from my fathers name to mine. Just about every company, agency and whatnot understood and just did it. Not EDF. I complained about the lack of service and basic human understanding. Their "bereavement department" wrote to me saying they will be in touch to resolve. That was May 2023... I resolved it by moving from EDF to British Gas. Took 48 hours with no questions asked. EDF sent a "we're sorry to lose you, but why?" email. It was a two word reply...

  43. Or alternatively@Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AOyou could buy a proper engine…?🤔🤣
    1 point
  44. @Nige_T, spec and price are right on. Sticking my neck out i would say it's your photo's not selling the car. Put the CXR wheels on, and take some all round photos would help show off the car, also put it on the FB for sale page, you will get more coverage. IMO the CXR's bring out a raw track ready look on a Westy, but I am biased 😁
