Good to know the chinese Helicoil are as good as the branded stuff, as I've used them on the whole exhaust side of the 1.8t cylinder head 😄 Nice video comparison btw3 points

I've been in contact with a couple of others that live in the area and we are going to have a trial meeting. Although I am calling it the Wiltshire meeting I want to try and fill the gap between Surrey, South Hampshire, Dorset and Bristol. We have decided to go to a local pub between Romsey and Andover called the Mayfly which is just outside Stockbridge. I don't think the pub would appreciate 100's of kit cars turning up without notice but if anyone else is interested in coming along let me know. Thanks, Steve.1 point

Not many tracks in Poland, so such mix of autocross and track (cones etc instead of always the same track line as on normal car tracks). I like this Autodrom Jastrząb , good sticky surface, not top fast hotel and parking few metres from start(cold shower between sessions on hot day! ) .. but yes. Have to drive there from home approx 3-3.5 hrs with trailer .1 point

My history is full of horrific reliability, a few car crashes, being seduced by looks over function, massive expense, and desperately high levels of maintenance..... Oh, I forgot we were talking about cars for a moment! 😂1 point

Mine's burned into my memory VW Beetle - I can still disassemble and reassemble one in the dark Ford Escort - 4 door 1.1 engine - not one of the good ones Ford Capri - you were never sure if it was going to go through the hedge backwards or forwards Mini - fond memories of bypass hoses Triumph TR 7V8 - used to eat front wheel bearings for some reason; made me loathe pop up headlights Seat Ibiza - pre VW days; easily the most unreliable car I've ever owned and I've owned some right ****boxes Mini Metro - burst into flames one day UVA Fugitive - even less practical than a westie Ford Fiesta - bought it with Barclaycard points; cracking car; ran it into the ground Mini Moke - bizarrely went fantastically well in the snow while simultaneously being totally impractical for the snow Scimitar SS1 - underrated flying machine with the endearing habit of the front wishbones falling apart while driving at speed Land Rover Series 2 lightweight - I've had cars that let in water in through the roof but this is the only one that let water in through the floor - burst into flames one day (another Rover - coincidence?) Porsche 968 - easily the most reliable car I've ever owned Smart Car - I think the engine recalls got into double figures Mazda MX5 - fantastic car but turned into a brown doily Audi A3 - not worth anything but won't die Westie 😁1 point

Currently investigating a dead AUU 1040 PIC (ignition) module out of a Morgan. Apparently this version is very rare. Hard to imagine a Maestro/Montego engine part being rare, but they didn’t make many of these specific ones it seems. I might be onto the fault….will post a follow up when the new chip arrives and I've tested it. Fingers crossed. Had to find the Arduino Uno I’d programmed up with ‘Ardustim’, a crank & cam signal generator. Remarkable what things are out there, for free. Pretty sure I’d have struggled to program that myself!!1 point
