  1. Not very practical for a trip to the shops but here's a racing car that's just set a new world record for an electrically powered 0-60 time. http://www.topgear.com/car-news/electric/students-have-built-electric-car-thatll-do-0-62mph-15s

  5. The best time to watch track action at Quarry corner is when it is raining. Firstly, because of the mayhem on circuit, and secondly, all the sparks jumping across your metal framed umbrella caused by the electro-magnetic field above you!

  6. I've tried the merry go round of ringing at 08:00 in the morning for an appointment and been told all the appointments are gone for the day, even though I phoned at exactly 08:00. then asked if I can make an appointment for the next day, and failed. After 4 days I gave up and went to the surgery and asked why I couldn't get one even if I phoned at exactly 08:00, how could all the appointments be booked even If I was the first one to call? The receptionist (they have special training don't you know) said I have to call at 08:00 tomorrow morning and after pointing out that I had tried that for 4 days she said I'll try and fit you in if there is a cancellation. Never called me back so I went to the surgery again in the afternoon and as luck had it one of my doctors was in the reception so I asked him first why I can't have an appointment. He just said come in to my consulting room now, made me a cup of tea and we had a nice chat (Thought they were rushed of their feet). I can remember on 'Question Time' years ago, a lady in the audience asked Tony Blair about this very same problem and he replied quote - "it's not supposed to work like that" nothing changed of course.

  10. Gareth, you are so generous, posting lots of 'people in their cars' pictures and then treating us to a video too, thank you. Luke, the ground was hard, which I was surprised at given the amount of rain that had come down the day before, BUT, Andrew explained that it had not rained in Lincolnshire. You might be a bit low for a field, although there were no cattle grids like we had at Cromford car show. Another WSCC member at Goodwood, did we ought to have a club stand there? we might get to see some photo's of the weekend then.

  11. If the front number plate is below the nose at least the rabbit is stunned before it goes through the bunny slicer. A humanitarian reason to keep front plates a legal requirement for Westfield's with diffusers at least. Jen
