  1. Hi Guys Thanks for the best wishes and kind comments Its great when a plan comes together and everyone enjoys it! I will book a table for Sat night at Loton if you let know who would be interested! Happy to help whenever possible! Apologies to to Martin van Z for forcing him to eat Prawn Cocktail at such a late stage in his life! I hear Mark B has retired from the SS to allow him to spend all his spare time in the Black Horse @ Blyton! Surely it can't be just the BEER! See you all soon BR G Free

  2. Martin I don't want you eating too much popcorn as it could effect your times Well I learnt a valid lesson at Blyton but the advantage of circuits over hills is that there's loads of run off other than a lone bale Classic case of bad lines and carrying too much speed into the corner for my abilities Please be gently with me

  3. Yeah folks, myself and the family all had a great weekend. Was good to see all the regular faces and the new ones. Allready looking forward to next year, have to try the kumho v70 or avon zzr tyres next time tho! Drool drool. Here's a link to my best effort. Ps, why was Peter green, #38 not recorded a timed run?

  4. Welcome Chris, however I'm amazed your thanking people for the useful threads, all this forum has done for me is emptied my bank account Oh ok, I've also met some great people, have a well sorted Westy, entered a fantastic competitive speed series and just love everything about this site

  5. Just wanted to say how much my son and I have enjoyed the speed series weekend. Fantastic weather again, (burnt again). Brilliant motorsport 5 runs in total Saturday and 4 today (Sunday). Enjoyable light hearted evenings (drunk again and hungover slightly again) although almost managed to avoid the vodka jelly, just a great atmosphere. Thanks to Nick for asking us to help with the start line duties it made a change and you don't get much of a break on there but wasn't at all boring even though we lined up well over a thousand starts over the 2 days. I hope everyone taking part and the track day Friday too enjoyed it as much as we did! Pity it can't be twice a year like some of the other events, right off to get the sweeping brush surgically removed after all the sweeping away of stones that's gone on. Thanks again all involved, Rich.

  7. Ok so here's my best run of the weekend 71.42s 2nd in class Before you all start I know I'm off the power & braking to early but I was working on ACW's advise of slow in fast out, just needs a little more practise

  8. Yes you could, though one of the colour options is for a sort of mat/satin black front ring. Pictures and some colour options are quite deceiving. I've got the chrome front/carbon effect rear on my new build, and whilst they're long, they're also quite slim, so the proportions work really well on my car. (I think ), so I've changed my mind since the post earlier in the thread. Not to every ones taste, I know. Here you go, from a few angles:

  10. You're right, John. It's a long day as I personally had to drive up from Haddington, although well worth it. Adding on a slightly longer leg would've been a struggle. It's maybe worth us thinking of meeting the NE Scotland boys around Braemar for a run in that area. The roads are great and we'll certainly be going back up that way! What do y'all think?I personally enjoy the stops too! A wee spirited run then a stop for a blether about it...cannae beat it! :-)

  11. For an event to run that smoothly and successfully there must have been an awful lot of work behind the scenes. Thanks to everyone who made it such an enjoyable, competitive and social weekend. Keith

I will cook a pig and get a full barrel of ale … camping available for ALL west fields but flattest pitches will be afforded to cross flows :-)

  13. Steve, After Blyton I am after a bonnet and nose cone with Barack Obama airbrushed on, a set of cow horns for the bonnet in the style of the general Lee, and stack exhaust pipe for the mighty cross flow - are the lads trying to tell me something? Yeeee Haaaaaa :-)

  15. What a great introduction to sprinting! Absolutely brilliant weekend, great venue, great people and the most fun I've had in a long while (despite my not-so-mighty woes). New friends and a reminder of what a fantastic club this is. Thank you all for the support and advice, and of course for keeping me going after each run today! I'll be back next year without a doubt, there's definitely a few more seconds to come!! Special thanks to James (alexander72) for the trailer loan - that turned out to be critical! And to Martin (marto303) for everything he did to get me there & keep me going, GF for the bolts & the Friday organisation and Matt/Keith for the advice and blowing my mind with the passenger ride! And as said before, everyone else too for being a top bunch. And especially the scrutineer who earnt himself a new nickname and will think twice before examining helmets in future....!
