    Yorkshire Breakfast Meeting. 15th March

Breakfast meeting next Sunday, 15th at The Darrington Hotel, Darrington, Pontefract, WF8 3BL from 10am. I will be taxed by then so I'll be in my Westfield. If it's not raining.
  3. I was going to do similar a few years back but never did it in the end. 2 questions 1. what material did you choose? I’m just thinking on thermal loading 2. did you find the vent in grp is symmetrical or did you design each one independently? To me they don’t appear symmetrical on the gel coat bonnet

    What happened to windys escort?

His membership expired almost a year ago. I'd like to know as well.
  8. Does anyone know if he got it finished?
  9. First go at painting in preparation for colour change…. Need to tweak the air flow and gun settings as there is a bit too much orange peel and a couple of drips (too much paint and not enough air…)
  10. Couple of Westfield SE•SEi Instruction Manuals for sale, £15 each
  11. nope. By the time I got home it was too late and dark. I think the first opportunity will be Wednesday due to work commitments and that has to be weather dependent. Going away to stay with my Mother on Thursday ready for Mothering Sunday so if Wednesday doesn’t work out, the car will remain filthy till mid next week!! By then the mud etc will have hardened on nicely!
  12. Have you cleaned yours yet after yesterday? I was silly enough to follow J&G’s directions into the overflow carpark yesterday. My car must have weighed twice its usual weight with all the mud attached. Also Ali seems to have done a mud dance before getting into the car..
  13. See @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative , my car is clean sometimes. It is only on trips with you that we are obliged to find all the farmers muck etc to plaster all over the car! Thanks @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for the write up and photos.

Great British Sportscars Cars and Coffee Saturday 7th March.

On the way home the engine decided to shake the thermostat housing bolts loose and leak coolant rapidly. I managed to get to a lay-by and stop in clouds of steam! I contacted the AA, and when the engine had cooled I tightened the housing bolts and checked all the hoses etc. Once Jordan from the AA arrived, we topped the coolant up, bled the system, pressure tested and ran up to temperature etc. All appeared well so we set off, albeit after a 2 hour delay. We didn't go straight home, we went to the services first, and then decided to eat whilst there. We set off for home as the rain started just to end the day on a high note!

Some pics from GBS. Good to see Roger and his XI. Dan's Robin Hood with a Vauxhall VX turbo engine. A nice XR3 just behind too. Andrew's very clean V8 Westfield. A variety of cars were present. Roger and his XI. A great turnout for the event. Tim's Westfield and mine with the bonnet off.

Knee support on Sports Turbo Seats

I've found I could really do with having a knee support on my car. Due to the height of my knee it's difficult to keep my foot still on the accelerator on bumpy roads. What have you done to cause the problem ?

Peak District Run Out, Sun 8th March, 10am Car Museum

Had a great day thanks Julie&Glen. Not sure how many more we will have, now that we are probably on the terrorist watch list. The conversations today did drift toward the dark side, maybe something followed us out of the fog. Great roads, great views(apparently) and brilliant company. Our car is completely plastered with muck and s… hope to have it clean before our next trip out.

Peak District Run Out, Sun 8th March, 10am Car Museum

Meeting on a dry and foggy day at the car museum were 5 Westfield's Breakfast and a good catch up on everybodies car stories We went on the run out, which was the same route as last time as it was excellent for 2 main reasons, one reason being it is full of nice bendy roads for the drivers and the second reason is that the views are great for the passengers. The fog on the high ground added a more interesting and challenging element to the driving but did spoil it a bit for the passengers. I think we will go for this route again on a brighter day. We arrived at The Calver Arms and Lee checked his car out as he seemed to have filled his tank with Kangaroo Juice. Parked at The Calver Arms Carvery at the Calver Arms In the Calver Arms We popped down the road to the Pavillion Cafe, Baslow to finish off This normally very shiny car does get down and dirty and it got much more sludgy on the way out of the car park, good job it's 2 owners love washing cars Ian followed us into the overflow car park, the only way out was through the thick sludge, don't spin those wheels! The rare Lesser Spotted Westfield hiding in the bushes Mild enough to sit outside It's been a superb day out, the driving was excellent, the views were garbage, the company was hilarious, quuite how we did cars, death and semtex all in one paragraph I don't know. It's a good job we never get any alcohol flowing or goodness knows where we might end up. Thanks for coming everyone and see you next time, The Angel of Death

Knee support on Sports Turbo Seats

You can pull the bar off with a piece of wood levering against the seat. No need to remove the seat.

Knee support on Sports Turbo Seats

Possibly the first pair I've seen still on the car. I binned mine fifteen years ago when I built the car.

Knee support on Sports Turbo Seats

I wished I’d thought about that. I’ve had the seats out today, moving what felt like millions of tiny stones as they were difficult to move forward and backwards. I should’ve done it while they were out. HB.
