@prgraham welcome! I lived just outside Worcester until a few months ago and was almost equidistant to the Black Country, Warwickshire and Cotswolds meeting venues and not much further to the Herefordshire one. Hereford has gone I think, Cotswold has been dead for years but was recently subsumed into Bristol so worth keeping an eye on. But basically your choice is Black Country or Warwickshire

New member in Worcester!
Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO replied to prgraham's topic in The Start Line
Hi @prgraham and You are more than welcome to come to our meetings and events. I have recently met up with another new Westfield owner from Worcester so you are not on your own! Look out for posts in the out and about forum and the Warwickshire Area Facebook page. -

And there is the Cotswold lot just south. Come out, we have you surrounded, resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.

Iโm 39 and have a 5 year old, I use mine as often as i can. I only work 3 miles away but would rather do 3 miles in the westy than 3 miles in a Tintop. I have recently fitted a child seat so I can take the boy out for a few little runs and he loves it.

Hi @SteveB21. We should get there about 0800 in case there's some tinkering to do. -

Hi @SteveB21 I'm 0955 and @Morris is at 0925. I'm aiming to be there from around 0845. We've got a little bit of flex on our start times as you know, they aren't fussy about sticking rigidly to the pre-planned order. Will you still be going to Malvern Saturday? -

Welcome! I think you have 2 local groups - @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO and @Rhett Turner - Black Country AO both have meets near you ๐ -
Thought I would introduce myself! Purchased my car off another member on here that happened to be up the road from me in Malvern! itโs a lovely 2000 factory built 1.8 zetec on itbs. Also happens to be 1 of 25 carbon special editions. I will be attending the national kit car show next weekend, but was wondering if there was a local area group for the midlands? I canโt seem to find any details.

@BobMet and @Morris - my plans may be changing, so may pop along to see you guys Sunday morning at Brooklands - do you know your starting times? -
Mine got more use when my son was similarly aged than it does now he's in his twenties! It was a treat to pick him up from after school club - perhaps trickier to do with two children. I also used it for commuting during the drier days - it was ridiculously cheap to insure and run so there was some strong man maths element to it too. Never went as far as a daily driver though.

Hi, I am looking for the following parts, either new or used: Alloy front Cortina uprights Alloy front Cortina hubs Alloy calipers suitable for 13โ wheels Any related ancillary parts you may have available I am based in Spain, so the items would need to be shipped here. Please note that I will cover all shipping costs, as well as any applicable Brexit-related taxes or customs duties. In the event that any part is damaged during shipping, I will take full responsibility and will not claim any compensation. I have purchased many parts from other users before, so Iโm very familiar with international shipping and logistics.

The vin number stamped into the chassis tube just infront of the pedal box
-
Ash, do you mean the VIN number stamped into the chassis? Or is there more stamping that I've not spotted on my car yet?

Westfield FW body v SEIW chassis length.

Malvern will give you the chance to sit in and try for size many cars. Most people are very obliging so fingers crossed you'll be able to identify exactly what suits and no longer have to run around the UK testing out cars that don't fit you guys! ๐ค๐ค๐ค -
I'm 42 with a 7 years old daughter and 4 years old son. I'm rebuilding mine so it's off the road, but before dismantling it I did take every occasion to be out on the road with the westfield, even for a quick grocery shopping trip. Early morning, afternoon (nap time for them) and late night weekend runs were common as well, basically any moment they are sleeping or busy with something else ๐ (and I'm not working obviously). There is the occasional weekend full day meeting anyway, which gets plenty of planning beforehand.
-
@JJQ I'm similarly aged but with 7 and 3 year olds, who don't enjoy staying asleep... I commute in mine when I can, as well as snatching evening blasts of a half hour or so. Plus have averaged a track day a year over the two I've owned the bought-built car. That's it, really. My experience of replacing the engine over the last ~year is that serious mechanical endeavours get strung out over a very extended period, as all my tinkering time is my previous evening driving time. Which isn't a lot. So buy built and working plus don't spank it, would be my advice!
-
Hmm.. Will see if I cant push him to come to malvern
-
MAC1 have the same chassis as older MK, so there should be enough space.
-
Just abit of a heads up too anybody thinking of purchasing this car . I went and viewed the car over the weekend as i fancied a redtop to roll around in for a couple of months and to drive down to malvern kit car show next weekend. Its not a bad little car yes its been damaged and there are of course a couple of areas that show this front flared side panels are a slighty different colour orange and the body has a couple of spider cracks that have been sprayed over and still show but i could live with that But and this is a VERY BIG BUT the chassis has been complete changed and the replacement chassis that has been used doesnt have the correct chassis number stamping This is not something i want to get into a debate over the reason for my post is that i would hate a member who is interested in the car traveling long distance with a view to buying the car and then finding the problem or a new member who is abit green not spotting the problem and then finding the problem at a later date .

thanks thats good info.. Cheap MAC1 bike engine up north on facebook.. But thats getting even more raw an experience..

First time I have wished to be shorter !!

MK and GBS are slightly larger/bigger than widebody Westfields, so they might be worth a try. The largest/biggest Sevens are the Dax Rush and the Luego Viento.
