Looks the part! sure they will be scrubbed in quick especially the rears lol!!!

Nice tyres. I'm currently going through the process of buying new tyres and these are one of those on my list. The other options are R888 and Federal 595 RS-R. Would like to hear your feedback on the R1R. These tyres look as if they have be produced by Wolverine :)

 

P.S. Coincidently, your nose indicators are exactly like the ones I've fitted. It's the first time I came across the same solution.

You need to look at how and when you're going to use the car when choosing tyres; I ran mine for five or six years on R888's, 95% road use and more or less all year round. On dry Tarmac at a reasonable ambient temp, and with the tyres warmed they're awesome - I know that's an overused phrase these days, but trust me, it's a different level again from mere performance tyres!

 

My car has always been used all year round, and I like to think all weathers, but in reality, the all weather bit was only if I got caught in rain when I was already out. If there was visibly damp Tarmac, I'd tend to find an excuse not to go out. I have plenty of pub tales of the back stepping out in a straight line after a crest in the road, mid overtake etc. etc (and that's just on cold or damp Tarmac) I've been out in torrential rain in them, the world didn't end, but O didn't enjoy the drive either; too tense!

 

on track, or on really hot roads -baked in the sun for a few weeks, the R888's are simply sublime.

 

since I put R1R's, I've stopped making excuses to not go out if the road surface isn't right. In the rain and standing water they're hugely, vastly, confidence inspiring. (The amount of water they lift off the road is amazing!). The grip on cold Tarmac - near zero ambient temps is excellent for a non-winter tyre. Yet they feel to have as near the same ultimate grip ON THE ROAD as my R888's did. Personally, I'd need a pukka track to find the extra grip that's in the R888's.

 

Yet on track R888's aren't the ultimate anymore either, so my thoughts these days are to have a fantastic road tyre - the R1R and then get a proper track tyre. (But admittedly, I'm fortunate, I'm dry sumped, so could run slicks on track if I wanted)
