Prior to collecting the car, I'd agreed to meet up with Barry as he had a lovely Aeroscreen up for sale. What better way to start ownership with your first upgrade?

Managed to snipe a brand new, never fitted leather boot tonneau cover on Ebay. Although it's designed for the single (cosmetic) rollbar, and I have an RAC one, I reckon with a little bit of DIY it can be made to fit.

In at the deep end... At the MOT they reported the OSR drum brake binding slightly. So I took the wheel off, removed the drum (after lots and lots of hammering and a little bit of Triple QX maintenance spray) to be greeted by the braking mechanism. Turns out the wheel cylinder is leaking, so it needs replacing. Never done this before, but with the support of the forums even I should be able to manage this... sometime next week though as I can't get the parts delivered until Wednesday.
Whilst I am tidying up there I may just as well replace the handbrake dust covers which are a bit perished. Found a seller on Ebay for those to prepare for the jobs in hand ordered 2x1L Pagid DOT4 from Eurocarparts.

Turns out, my rear axle is missing the breather, allowing oil to be thrown out of the axle and then making a general mess of things. Fortunately, on Ebay a seller is selling new breathers, so quickly ordered one.
May just as well do it properly, so also ordered 2x1L Fuchs Titan Race Gear 90 LS from Opie Oils to replace the fluid.

It looks so much better all cleaned up and with new parts. It was a real pain to get the springs back together, and the replacement drums I ordered didn't fit the hub, but the rest was relatively speaking straight forward.
