FILFAN Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If I ever get calls emails or anything asking for details they get ignored. Once had an argument with Halifax bank over the phone because I refused to answer security questions when they called me. Quote
greenandmean Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Get similar e mails at least 4 times a week, I must have an online account with every bank in the country, except I don't bank on line at all. All get the delete button instantly. Quote
Stuart Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Getting a new line in spam started this week. All mails begin 'mailers@........'. Very professionally done offering cruises, credit cards, PPI claims and so on. They might fool more people if they didn't send out a dozen or more on all these different 'offers' each day. Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 That's a bit mystifying as what would they hope to gain. Can't really empty the cash from your hotmail account. Quote
User0083 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 That's a bit mystifying as what would they hope to gain. Can't really empty the cash from your hotmail account. What if you have emails containing details to how to log into online banking? Quote
User0083 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Ah, I see. Stupid me. Hahaha When I worked with PC's and gave lectures on security getting people to see how many emails they have in trash/deleted would get their attention straight away. Quote

Kevin Jones Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 There was a bit of theory running around that the scams are obvious so they self select suitable targets. Last thing the scammers want is to get loads of responses from people who will not complete. Quote
Stuart Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Ah. Now that makes a great deal of sense Kevin Quote
FILFAN Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Should we all reply with false details to overwhelm them Quote
