Kill Switch

Without meaning to drag this topic up again I have 1 question;

I am following the diagram below

Where to the "Main Electrical Feed" wires connect to??

You need not worry about those - they are the thick brown wires probably/hopefully on your starter soleniod at the moment *- leave them there, and dont make that connection , they are electrically in the same place .

The wire to the big terminal on the top right goes to starter soleniod via the fat battery type cable . Loop from this switch terminal here with a thinnish wire to the first switch terminal Below it .

( terminal 1)

Hope that makes sense !!

For the lower pair of terminals (2) - just break the feed to your ignition ( coil or whatever) and run via those two terminals. Don't make a new connection from the ignition switch.

* if by chance your brown wires are on the battery posts instead then they need moving to the position shown on the switch - these are your main feeds .

Clear as mud eh ?

All Advice in good faith - if you are not sure in yourself then don't !!!

Sorry to contradict hammy, but the answer isn't correct. The top right connection is your heavy wire that goes to your starter then linked to your alternator. Agree with looping from this to terminal 1.

Then the wire from terminal 2 goes to your ign switch and THEN to the solenoid.

Cheers

I struggled with thisone when I fitted mine .. found this most useful http://www.nsu4.nl/english/e1batterymasterswitch.html  its in dutch but google translate works wonders

But effectively, I did the following

Battery Positive to FIA switch (large battery type cable)

FIA Switch to Starter Motor Solenoid (large battery type cable)

1.5mm2 loop from contact 1 to terminal going to the solenoid

1.5mm2 with resistor inline to earth (I have some of these spare bought a pack from a electronics supplier for less than the cost of 1 from Demon Tweeks etc -- happy to send you one if you need it)

I then chopped the lead from the ignition switch that goes to the +ve on the coil .. the end coming from the ignition switch was connected to the FIA switch terminal 2, then a new piece from the other side of terminal 2 of the FIA switch back to the coil +ve

not sure that is any clearer - but the link is pretty good

Just realised - this is exactly what Hammy just said~!  doh ... anyway the circuit diagram in the link is still worth a look at!

Mine agrees with Colin's picture from His link. It's hard to explain in words! ... But a picture etc etc

Hope it's not been too confusing ;)
