SteveD Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 imho opinion that programe should of been ended with mcrae driving the skoda for the last time in the wrc , where he was running at the top but had gearbox issues and the crew couldnt change the gearbox fast enough and they ran out of time ,end of rally . the whole paddock turned up and clapped mcrae at his pit garage , they were clapping him as they recognised his acheivment with the skoda ,showing him for the hero he was getting that car up there where there is no way it should have been Quote
Rory's Dad Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 A bit too much like "Hunt the Shunt" as James was known in his formative years IMO. I wonder if the film was re-edited for some reason - hence the delay in broadcastiing. Rory's Dad Quote
dombanks Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 just read on the beeb that they are blaming McRae for the helicopter crash that killed him. The tone of the report was pretty damning against him. Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 It wasn't the BBC that blamed him (I know you didn't meant to say that but it could be read that way). It was the air accident inquiry. As an inexperienced pilot he shouldn't have been flying so low in poor visibility. In other words he flew his helicopter like he drove his rally cars. Quote
Scottish Bloke Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Well done to Sir Chris and Jimmy, really enjoyed the programme but so sad and a waste of an amazing talent. RIP Colin Quote
