SootySport Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Of course, they may have been right. I sold a Nissan Cherry to an elderly lady. She took delivery and set off home. She didn't get there, she was riding the clutch so much it burnt out in 12 miles. She admitted it was her fault. Her excuse was she couldn't feel the pedal as her previous car the clutch was much heavier. When I say burnt out I mean that. The centre plate was blue and had no friction material left on it. Had another one that came back and complained about the poor fuel consumption. She was pulling out the choke to hang her handbag on. Her previous car had an automatic choke. Now now Norman, thats and old one about the choke, heard it a hundred times. Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Do you know, I was going to say the same. But I was also going to add that it happens to be true. It was in the mid seventies at Osborn Garages, 100 Whitechapel Road, London E1. Tel: 247 3552. Not bad, that I can remember all that after over 30 years. Quote

Well I'm going to ring them and ask if it's true. Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 It's Citroen City now, Osborn Garages closed down (didn't go bust) in the 80's when we moved into dealer software systems. Quote
SootySport Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I'll let you off then, just this time mind you. Stay warm Norman. Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Many thanks. I am staying warm, I've got my woolie hat on and a thick woolie shirt and big woolie jumper. I look like a sheep! Then, when I go out I don a big sheepskin jacket and a pair of gloves. Quote
Norman Verona Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 That's why I have oversize wellies. Quote
