I was on the offside, with plenty of visibility of oncoming traffic, going round a broken down Alfa being winched up the ramp of a recovery truck, and he hove into sight going far more than the posted 40. Luckily he either had ABS or was wise enough to brake no more than needed to avoid a head-on with me, and we skimmed past each other with room to spare.
