chris-stockton Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I am selling my 2001 Jaguar XJR V8 as I've now a new toy (the v8 westy lol). I have had three x300 Jags and always hankered after the supercharged version, so took the plunge from straight 6 to V8 and I’ve loved every minute. I bought one of the best examples I could find from a friend of a friend so knew it had been looked after. It has been a weekend fun car and is currently on a classic car insurance policy. As standard, these put out 370bhp/525nm torque, which equates to a 0-60 for 5.3 secs for an automatic!Just before I bought it, the previous owner took it to a local specialist to have an independent inspection done for peace of mind before I bought it, this was only approx. 3000 miles ago. There were only minor things flagged up, which have mostly been resolved in my ownership.Since I have owned the car, I have maintained it well and replaced anything I found that was worn. Some of the parts include:1 x Tyre, front brake discs and pads, brake fluid, cam cover gaskets, sump gasket, oil and oil filter.A couple of larger things that have been replaced include the supercharger and the timing chains. The supercharger is a common point of wear on XJR’s at this mileage, so a second hand replacement was ordered from a specialist breaker and duly fitted. This has resolved the issue and the car is quiet again. The other weak point on the V8 engine is the timing chain tensioners, a couple of mine showed signs of wear, so all 4 chains, tensioners and guides were replaced with uprated 4th generation metal ones. Standard equipment includes electric memory driver’s seat, electric passenger seat, traction control, heated seats, electric aerial, electric boot release, Jaguar telephone in cubby box, climate control and electrically adjustable steering wheel. The current mileage is ~103K, the MOT expires in August 2013 and it’s current tax disk expires the end of January and has the following servicing records:08.05.03 @1096013.04.04 @2523320.04.05 @3980805.06.06 @5791014.12.07 @7634930.04.09 @8500407.04.11 @95046 It’s bodywork is in very good condition, with only a couple of very minor scratches and one minor dent about the size of a £1 coin. One of the rear bumper corners also has a slight scuff. The only faults I am aware of are:Cracked rear rubber bump stops and slightly worn rear bumper mounting, oh and the rear parking sensors can sometimes be faulty. Please let me know if you have any questions, test drives only if your insurance covers this car and at my discretion. I am looking for offers in the region of £3750
