Two motor bike Gendarmes once gave me a speeding ticket for doing 71 in a 70 zone. Didn't really mind other than they weren't behind me and stopped me 10 miles further on from the where they said the offence took place.

But you don't argue with a man with a gun.

Actually, in France, the Gendarmes are taught to speak English. Everyone of them I've been stopped by have.

But, you're right, no sense of humour at all.

Had a pair of motor bike Gendarme outriders escorting Mr Toad through a French village. The peeled off eventually as I was being a good girl.

Jenny, are you anything but a good girl?

I've been stopped more time than I care to remember. Not that I've done anything wrong, they just want to look at the car and ask what it is.

I never thought Gendarmes & speeding were anything to do with "SNOW COMING"!!!!!!!!! ???

Are we on for another dump on Friday / Saturday? :t-up:  :p

We had about an inch of snow here close to the chilterns but it melted pretty quickly during the days that followed.

There's no such thing as "PC" in France..

They are called gendarmes!

There's another drift...

It wasn't me that that drifted to Gendarmes. (which, by the way comes from "gentleman of arms")

I do drift but not this time.

Still no snow here. More rain overnight.

We had a gas delivery yesterday. The driver walked all the way down the drive to make sure he could get to the tank without getting bogged down. He then reversed all the way down, run his hos out to maximum and filled our tank. He reckoned half the houses he went to he couldn't get to the tank because the ground was so wet. I know, not snow, but close.

This is a thread about snow, so it's allowed to drift.
