Dubai. Things to do?

Have any of the Westfield collective spent ant time in Dubai or could recommend activities, places to see, thing to do, etc ?

 

 

I'm off on Friday for a month with work but will have a bit of time in the afternoons and weekends.

 

Don't say shopping like loads of people i've asked !

Skiing, Desert Driving courses, See sun go down in the desert. Ride Camels.

definitely do the desert dune driving - superb fun and very skilful.

I hear that drinking, sex and stealing are all great things to do over there :suspect::oops::laugh:

FerrAri world has beenopen for a while now. Flights are cheap so Qatar, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi are allwithin reach for a weekend away.hotels a plenty and cheap. Dune driving a must especially an overnight one

My ex co director bought a carpet on the company credit card over there on a private trip :angry:

 

 

For what it cost it should of been a flucking flying carpet  :angry:

Desert dune safari ride, great places to eat and drink in hotels, the gold souk is an experience and people watching in the shopping malls - spotting the Gucci's beneath the burkhas - car spotting - altho you will get bored of Porsches, Mercs, Bentleys, Fezzas etc etc etc get along to the race circuit theres a 24 hour race very soon loads of brits taking part

If you go to Atlantis hotel you can swim with their Dolphins.

Some good ideas guys I do fancy getting into the desert so an overnight might be worth it.

 

Just had a look  at the Dubai Autodrome and the 24 Hour of Dubai is on this weekend so I'll try to get to it.

You should be able to get some good deals on gold. When I say deal they just weigh the stuff and apply the cost per gram maybe buy a few pressies to get into any good books. :love:

 

Spice Souks are interesting places if you like that sort of thing.

You may have to be careful with our customs when you return if you get my drift. The value of most arabic gold is purely by weight and nothing for design workmanship etc so for an ounce of gold thats what you pay unless they have started ripping people off. 31.7ish grammes I think in an ounce and not sure of the current gold price but was well up back end of last year. $1657 per ounce, thats over a grand, bl**** hell must get my stash re-insured. Maybe forget that one, how about pearls or stones. Saffron used to be a fair deal but you don't have much need for that normally.
